Announcement: 9 June 2010

We are aware that the Internet Radio module is not working at this moment. We are looking into it.

Stay Tuned...

What does it mean "Announcement: 9 June 2010 " ?
Will it be a new firmware today or it's just a new type of communication?

It means that Junwei has announced on 9 June 2010, that he is aware that Internet Radio is not working, as simple as that.

The date is just for reference.

Unless I am very much mistaken Junwei meant this to be humorous. Meaning he made an "announcement" as they do on the radio (about radio not working) and asking us to "stay tuned" as they also do on the radio. :D

Wow .......what a great joke, those are the things we DON"t need to keep informed about.

We DO need to keep informed about the (almost weekly) FW updates, and all the other things that are not true in the computex movie. :stepout:

Goody :D

And another remarkable thing she said:
"We have the largest foreign community group, very community based and people will always get a response from us."
She left out, how fast that answers sometimes comes ;) (Some answers in the FW-topics are just left unanswered, even question about the new features that just work, but need some pointers... )

This video proofs that parallel universes do exist....

actually those announcements are of bigger use for us than u whining about promotion. its promotion, of course its not really true. so please dont make a fuzz out of that and spam this thread....

fw updates came rather regulary so far and imo development is going in the right direction.

this radio issue: is that once u search for some radio station your normal radio lists (genre etc.) are all empty afterwards and u can only search for stations to listen to? or is that just me, cause i have that issue since several beta fw's ago

If I may just add my 2c as a new owner of a POHD... there is stiff competition here in SA between the Mede8ern and the POHD (which only just got brought in here by a supplier) so regular firmware updates are very important. People are making buying decisions based on firmware as the hardware for both units is almost identical....

But to keep this on topic... I bought the unit with older firmware and updated to this new one immediately and am much happier with the appearance so definitely moving in the right direction!

Something I am picking up and that is that the screensaver does not seem to be kicking in with this new firmware.... I have a plasma so it is really important to me that an image does not remain static for a protracted period of time. The menu screen has been up for a long time now and I have it set to one minute.

Please can this be sorted?

Also I am new to the POHD but does the screensaver kick in on all static screens? I updated my firmware shortly after getting the unit but it seemed to be like in some places the screensaver did not kick in.

On the first screen, when the POHD boots, the screen saver does not "kick in".

Go to a sub menu and leave it, the screen saver should kick in. Pause a movie and the screen saver should kick in.

Go to the first screen (browser, etc.) and it doesn't. I don't know why, but then I am just an amateur.

Cheers.

Thanks, I'll do some testing on the other screens but I really think they should implement the screen saver on any static image. I don't really feel like having PlayonHD burnt into my plasma ;)

I reported about this issue twice - 6 month ago and 3 month ago... And you see - everything just as it was. Is the implementation of this function so complicated? Actually it's not a new function, it's a bug. Screensaver also don't work on the main screen of medialibrary...

Things like this that are reported (and, bearing in mind I have limited technical knowledge myself, should be fairly easy to implement) really should be sorted out ASAP. There is a lot of talk on local forums about the speed with which issues get resolved... failure to resolve them timeously gives the hardware a bad name.

It is disappointing to hear that these same issues have been raised on a number of occasions previously.

I notice that the postings from the user VIOM are mostly negative, although the picture he uses says 'Be Positive'. :grinning:
