DavidT99 wrote: To recap on the tests that I have done;
I have 134 movies all in individual folders. 113 movies work with Thumbgen as expected, 21 movies do not work as expected. I use the provided PlayonHD profile and the WDTVOrigSTD template (I think that's what it is called)
I have used both Extra thumbnail and Thumbnail, I have named the moviesheet 0001.jpg and !"movie name".jpg, I have used Dirks profile as well as the PlayonHD profile within Thumbgen, I have renamed the movie file and regenerated the images, I have updated both my POHD's both manually and via the update menu, Both my POHD and POHD Mini behave in the same way.
In every case the same movies work correctly and the same movies do not work correctly with Thumbgen.
I think it must have something to do with the movie itself as everything else has been changed.
What is wierd is that Dirk hase tested the images I created for a non working movie on his POHD and they work correctly, go figure!!
I don't think this is a Thumbgen issue, I am pretty sure it is a POHD firmware issue.
David Thanks David for extensive testing! I may only repeat that for me it works with no movie, regardless of name, format, etc. What's maybe special with my setup is that my external HD is ext3 formatted. I will check out if for me the problem also exists for an ntfs drive. Cheers, Stephan

Stephan
My movies are on a ReadyNAS DUO which I think is formated Ext3 as well but I could be wrong.

David Thanks David, that may actually take us somewhere. Will check an ntfs drive as soon as I get home. Cheers, Stephan

 Re: [BETA] PV73200 r4107 firmware **POHD-MINI**
Eureka! I attached an ntfs formatted drive and now the thumbgen based navigation works perfectly well! So it seems the problem is with ext3 drives, indeed.
The question I have to the Dev-Team now is whether this is going to be fixed/possible to fix for ext3 drives or do I need to convert my drive back to ntfs? A fast comment would be very much appreciated!
Cheers,
Stephan

Stephan Great, now we know what causes the problem we just need a fix. Unfortunately I can't use NTFS on my ReadyNAS. Thanks for finding this out. David

Way to go Scuppa and DavidT99 for all your testing and in the end tackle this issue, indeed let`s hope the Dev-team is able to make a fix for it. anyway thanks guy`s edit: hope all the others with this same issue, are able to test also if they have ext3 drives and if it is solved with ntfs as well. i only used ntfs BTW.

 Re: [BETA] PV73200 r4107 firmware **POHD-MINI**
Installed this version and it looks nice. I still see 2 issues since the release of 3875 (and I hoped it was resolved in 4107). 1)blu-ray iso files are unplayable (via USB), sound is lost and the picture stutters all over the place.I just reverted back to 2956 and voila, it plays like a charm ! 2)DVD menus are a little bit messed up (not always though, but most of the times) which makes it hard to select the extras, or the chapters/subtitles etc. Could you please check this out and fix it in a future release, because being now on 2956, I miss the new stuff already..... Oh, another thing, when you have custom subtitles (like SRT) or subtitles within HD movies, they are difficult to read when displayed on a light background, it is like they are to thin, or do not have a good shadow. It may be a font issue , could you have a look at that too ? Thanks! And keep up the excellent work! Eddie.

Cheers,
Stephan Here's some more observations I made in the meantime. Apparently the issue has got something to do with on what file system the thumbgen files have been originally created, i.e.: 1. Folder.jpg and 0001.jpg files created on ntfs drive: folder.jpg preview and SLOW-button showing 0001.jpg working on ntfs drive; whole folder then copied to ext3 drive: working on ext3 drive as well! 2. Files created on ext3 drive: folder.jpg preview working but SLOW-button showing folder.jpg instead of 0001.jpg on ext3 drive; whole folder then copied to ntfs drive: folder.jpg preview and SLOW-button showing 0001.jpg working on ntfs drive. That explains why for some movies it works also on an ext3 drive as in David's case. I hope that gives the developers enough information to fix the issue! Cheers, Stephan

What I still don't understand is why when I created all my files on my ReadyNAS (ext3) that some work and some don't. David
