Artifact Problem

With this beta firmware I encounter an artifact problem for the same file which doesn't exist with previous firmware. Right now I revert my firmware back to 3875 in order to play the movie correctly.

Alot more colors..thats what the former one had!

Poor designers??? Don't lie to users JUNWEI! New main menu structure & pictures are 99,99999% like in PlayON!DVR HD. You just need to resize pictures from FullHD 1080 to 720. That's all what should be done, and I think not by designers.

Colors of main menu pictures are faded, looks ugly, strange and blankly...

Implementation of YAMJ is awful, Thumbgen much better...

Only 2 good things that I found:
- when cursor is over "setup" and you press "right" you are now over the "browser", like carousel;
- now it's enough space for main menu sections titles

One month to resize main menu GUI from DVR HD for Playon!HD... Don't you think it's too long, even for "designer"???

Having network problems. Playon HD can detect my laptop and desktop but not the other way around.
Any ideas

come on guys, give junwei a break , the release is called beta and development & enhancements still going on , the intention is to receive all the feedback in order to reach optimum release so let's not put aggressive comments

See directory /tmp/hdd/fat32/REC/ (strange place to store....... you can't access this directory via Samba?!?!?!)

If you like to see it on your HDD, execute the following commands.


start a cmd box on your computer.
[start] -> [run] type cmd and return. A command window appears.

Make a telnet connection with the PlayonHD by typing "telnet ip-number" (ip nummber of the POHD)
username = root (no password)

type "rm -R /tmp/hdd/fat32/REC" (remove old recorded files and directory REC)

type command " mkdir /tmp/hdd/volumes/HDD1/REC" (creating a directory, visible with Samba)

type command "ln -s /tmp/hdd/volumes/HDD1/REC /tmp/hdd/fat32/REC" (create a symbolic link to the new directory)

Start a recording and a new directory is made in directory REC. (like 05302010) In this directory the recorded files are stored like "Arrow_Classic_Rock_-_De_Muziek_van_je_Leven__BRYAN_ADAMS-SOMEBODY_13_27.mp3"

I had the same problem as you, but after some reading, i used Ember Media Manager (It fully support yamj config now, just remember to disable generating urls) to generate the correct movie info and covers. After i'm done there, i regenerated the jukebox and wala, everything as what i wanted. But the files EMM generated probably do not support the new interface created by thumbgen fully. Haven't tried that, will post results after i flash next weekend.

Oh yes, thanks to J and team for the effort, been following with their releases recently and i thought they have done great. I am a developer myself and i know sometimes its tough to cater to all the needs of the users. You have a huge user testing base, that in my opinion is your greatest asset. Keep up the good work
