wow nice release

Hi, here's my two pence worth of feedback. I just got the player yesterday and deployed the new beta firmware on it. So these comments are not only for the beta release but in general on the firmware.

* Regular spontanious resets, also with previous firmware.
* most my settings were gone after upgrade.
* Shortcuts are not handy; should be possible to do at folder level, and create your own menu from various resources. I don't want to explain my wife and kids the tree structure of the mediaplayer. it should be WAY more intuitive than it is now.
* Media library only shows local content, while I am using this with a DLNA server. I would expect to see all content sorted per type in a logical intuitive menu.
* Upnp: pictures section shows a folder ".", which is not there on my server.
* Upnp: when I enable my DLNA server to also show the subtitle, it is not shown in the movie. When playing the exact same movie from a network share, it works.
* Like the new mainscreen, but it would be nice to be skinnable by a community. The rest of the menu is not consistent with the main menu, the whole layout makes a messy impression on me to be honest.
* YAMJ; will try this later but I would prefer the player to contact imdb itself and get the movie data, as well as mp3 album information and thumbnails.
* Feature request: play music from a network share while watching pictures.
* Music playback with some nice screencandy would be nice.

I will add more as I discover more.

Good to see there are updates anyway, hope the new SDK will also bring more.

I see that people her are very unforgiving.
I would like to thank all the developers involved with these releases. Would love to give it a try. Hope there is not HDD format issue with this one.

Thanks for the updated firmware and the new facility to use ThumbGen rich content which is most welcome, however the restriction that every movies must be in its own folder and therefore use of 0001.jpg and folder.jpg suits some people but it does not suit all. I have multiple movies in the same folder. I file my movies by genres folders.

Can you look at a more flexible arrangement. ie for the movie avatar.mp4 I have avatar.jpg for the DVD cover and avatar.mainsheet.jpg for the TG template. This allows multiple movies in the same folder.

When you are in the Thumbgen "SLOW" mode UP and DOWN works as promised.
The next or previous movie is shown, very nice !!!

But when you are in the normal folder browser mode you can also press >>| or |<<
on the remote to go the next page. In the "SLOW" mode it doesn't work.
Screen gets a bit screwed up....

Can this be implemented in the next release ?
When you have a lot of movies it saves a lot of clicks.

Would be nice if you could also press someway the first letter of a movie and jump to the first folder starting with this letter. Maybe similar like writing an SMS message on your mobile with number 1-9 on the RC.

With his version, is the method for updating the jukebox placed into a menu instead of asking everytime you start up YAMJ?
And can we store a location for the jukebox?

Tested basic functionality on this fw and so far everything is ok.
One thing I cannot find is where recorded radio streams are stored.
Will test this later tonight.

Another thing I noticed,but I don't think it belongs in this thread: metafeeds do not work the way it should: movies from e.g. dumpert.nl cannot be viewed, but are saved to the HDD.

I guess the people behind metafeeds will check what is different in this new FW and what needs to be done to make it work again.

Overall it all looks great, love the recording option, love the new look of the gui, can't wait to see the rest of it

Great Gui and thanks for using the Thumbgen methode, (realy like that program)

but if you do not like to call your first Jpg file 0001.jpg or you have multiple
movies in the same folder/directory or you still want to use tvixie2playonhd,
then in the settings from thumbgen select the extrasheet.

for naming the extra sheet i am now using $M\!$N.jpg
which means it will create an extra sheet with the name of the movie and adding a ! at the start of the filename so it will be seen as the first jpg in the browser of the playonhd.

for example the movie avatar will be created a extra sheet with the filename:

!avatar.jpg

so then 0001.jpg will not be needed anymore.

for the mainsheet i use tg-bg as the filename for tvixie2playonhd.
