I have the PlayOnDVRHD bought in Singapore.

Recording is cool and I can playback while watching. But these are done via FTP / SMB connectivity.

If I connect via a web browser, I can navigate into the folder and click on the mpg file but it does not playback via the browser.

If it's a recorded file, it's just downloading it. But if it's a file that is still being recorded while I browse it, is there a way for me to view the recording via a web browser and still have it record?

I'm using a Mac with Snow Leopard 10.6.

A lot of people ask this question before. Unfortunately, there is no streaming function built into the dvr. There are a couple ways to get it streaming online. You can download an open source program called VLC to setup a streaming server to stream the live video and watch it remotely. Doing so, you may not have complete control of the dvr like changing channels or view recording media file.

Another way, is to buy a Slingbox. It will give you total control of your dvr and you can watch your dvr anywhere in the world as long as there is internet with reasonable speed. For more information about Slingbox, go to

Unfortunately, the Slingbox is not available in Singapore. You can purchase it from Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, North America or Europe.
