I'd definately vote for a dual DVB-T box. Analog will be turned off here in a few years and all the free channels available on Analog are already on DVB-T (except in beautiful HD) so really theres no reason to have an analog tuner as well, far better to have 2 digital ones.

I second comments from others also about MHEG-5 format support for EPG listings. It should also be noted that NZ and several other countries use HE-AAC LATM audio which (last time i checked) the PlayOn!HD mini did not support.

Also i'd love to see this product be able to record .ts files that can also be shared with other computers on the network so i could watch them on my laptop sometimes, it would further increase the usefulness of the Playon!DVR-HD!

Your answer to Smokey881 is not so clear to me:
Q: 1) Will Dual DVBT be able to record analog programmes via the set top box of Starhub/Mio?
A: 1.) No. You can only record using AV-in Source. You can record from set top box using AV-Out (Set top box) to AV-In (DVR-HD). Recording would be under 576I instead. (For those having Hubstation HD, if you're tuning in HD channel, definitely the recorded clip will not be in HD format due to AV-In.) The channel that you wish to record must remain the same during the recording.

Please explain what can be recorded?
- Record from analoge(RF) input?
- Record from analoge A/V input?
- Record from Internal DVB-T tuner 1 and 2(for the dual DVB-T)?

Would it be possible to place all the valuable answers, you give, in the first post? This way you can avoid returning questions and answers. (Like the questions about the A/V input)

I'm from the Netherlands and I'm in a Satellite/DVB-T area. No cable, so no DVB-C.

For the Netherlands there are basically 3 type of broadcasting all scrambled:
- Satellite (scrambled SECA 2+) (only 2 NL channels (Astra 19) FTA)
- DVB-T (scrambled Conax) (only 3 of 25 channels FTA)
- DVB-C (scrambled Betacrypt or Conax?)

Analogue territorial broadcast is ceased a couple of years ago as you know (you are from the Netherlands right)

Although it would be nice to have a CAM/CI module in the player I think it is too risky. The type of scrambling is changing all the time because of people hacking the system.

For as far I can see the best version for the Netherlands would be the one with DVB-T and analogue. Although Dutch people will only be able to use the DVB-T tuner for the 3 FTA channels in the Netherlands.
The analogue tuner (RF) can be used for a coax-RF connection with any set-top box (cable, DVB-T tuner or satellite receiver)
As a second input I would like to see that you can use the A/V input with the same usability as the analogue tuner input of the Playon. (for example for recording possibility). (most set-top boxes have RF and A/V(via scart) output as well. And some have already dual tuners inside)

the best way to do so is bring a card decoder in, look at satellite receivers
In Holland all the new televisions have a empty decoder slot

MALAYSIA:

Prefer Analog + DVBT.

Malaysia broadcasts are Analog signals.

Near to Singapore could receive Singapore's broadcast Analog + DVTB signals.

I'll second that a version with dual DVB-C would be a winner in Denmark, or the choice of one analogue tuner and one DVB-C tuner.

I would prefer dual-DVBS! Then i could toss my satellite receicer (PowerPC/Linux) and reduce powerconsumption by a bit.

Here in the Netherlands we would like it to have DVB-C build in.
That's the type of Smartcard our provider uses.
But there are more providers in Holland so actually it's better to make the Playon!DVR-HD compatibel with al types of Smartcards.
