Sorry for saying this, but it is a bad thing that only ONE person knows about the status of development.
(Eugene in this case)

When he is away on business, or gets sick, there is no status of development at all, and customers can ask all they want, but won't get a satisfying answer untill E is back.

Seems like E is the head developer, so the other developers (if any) can't do anything without the feedback from E

Very bad situation

Known issues with the BT client and as well as SAMBA, might be the reason why media playback over network shutters badly (files with high bitrate rite). These issues has been reported to Realtek previously and it's beyond our coding as the modules are under Realtek's care.

Lastly, bear with me, I'm trying my best to get info documented down so we could get it fixed.

Hi "J"

I am posting this here as it doesn't concern playback over the network. I hope that's okay.

I have been moaning about stutter on playback of most movies in recent firmware, but not over the network, this is from the internal hard drive.

I understand the high bitrate side of things and that makes sense. However, I have recently discovered something. I have two movies that have two soundtracks, Spanish and English. Both have the Spanish soundtrack as the first. Now, Casino Royale stutters really badly if the Spanish Audio track is playing but, when I switch to English, the stutter stops! Woohoo! No Stutter! (I don't speak Spanish, I am English).

The other movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, starts with the Spanish audio, but it isn't noticeable until a few minutes into the film as there is no dialogue at first. It plays smoothly with no stutter. When switching to the English soundtrack it stutters! It is the reverse of Casino Royale.

It would appear that the audio side of things may affect the video side.

The info for the movies:

I amongst others are experiencing problems with HDMI output through AV-Receivers on Plasma or TFT displays. Every reboot or power-on the videosetting is reset to NTSC, HDMI Auto is greyed out and i have to set the resolution manually. It would be most helpfull that you implement a lock-videosetting option in the next iteration of the firmware. As setting it manually works it should be quite easy to achieve this and you would make me and others very happy. If it's not possible let us know cause i than can return my unit to the dealer (but i really, really don't want to do that!!)

Testing results: when using infrastructure network connections, file download is 99 out of 100 times not completed. Using p2p gives much better results (using Samba). Loading files from a NTFS formatted 2,5" drive via USB is extremely slow (8 min/1000Mb.) Compared to normal USB speeds that's really bad. Also Mac OS HFS is still not supported... that's the one other thing my WD-HD did better than the PlayonHD (the other thing being able to lock the video-setting). Last thing: the system doesn't "memorize" the latest choice in the Media Library, that would be very handy in my opinion, resume not working neither?

Only prob I found, and dit not had with older firmware, is that my POHD sometimes hangs with filetransfer from win7 to the HDD of the POHD. Sometimes it goes to a sort of reboot (blue screen on tv) when opening a file on the HDD. The problems I have looks to be connected to eachother.

I went back to r2901, because i can't use the "Menu" button anymore to go back to the DVD menu.

I really want to use r3615.
Does anyone know a workaround to go back to the DVD menu while playing. because the "Menu" button is now used for the audio, sub, chapter menu :? :? :?

When we get x.v.color (xvYCC) mode support back like in old firmwares? Please its a very useful thing when watching movies on LCD panels.

Post Re: [BETA] firmware version r3615 for POHD Standard
The last two days, when watching files from USB the message: "HDD plugged out" came up. I had to pull the power plug out to get it back again.

Now, when watching files from HDD the message: 'IO Error' comes up and the picture freezes.

Trying to install official firmware to see if that fix the problem.

*Update*

After I was about to install firmware 2901 the player faded black. I restarted it (had to unplug the power chord) then I changed the firmware. After re-installment, my HDD files were gone. Had restart it (unplugging power-chord) to see my files again.

Now working as normal with 2901, but I'm not installing any BETA - Test ware or whatever again before its official. Any chance of loosing all my files is to risky!

P.s. Please keep the picture views of folders in the future releases. One request though, make the view of the picture bigger (e.g. half of the screen instead of inside the box)
