We've gotten a lot of people asking us by email if certain files do play. The Playon!HD plays more than your average mediaplayer, that's for sure! Of course there are just a few Extreme/Exotic HD files that don't even play nicely on an average pc or notebook and no other player can play them either. But let's see what does play!

Since there are a LOT of files that vary in quality, bitrate, reframes ect, let's open up this topic so you can post links to the files so we can check them and report our findings!
We invite current owners to join in on the testing as well! :)

Recently we received a set of video files taken directly from a digital videocamera. The file format is MTS, and were played perfectly on the Playon!HD.

HD Audio Test

A user has pointed us to this Classical music site in Norway, they've got a good set of HD samples for test. Whether you like Classical music or not, a good player/sound system and good HD audio format does make a difference with Classical music - making it a good choice for tests.

http://www.2l.no/hires/index.html

We've started the tests with the first file "W.A.Mozart:
Violin concerto in D major (KV 218) - Allegro", tests with stereo sound via HDMI done, next to do test with external multichannel amp.

Glad to say the stereo sound test completed with pretty good results - only DTS did not come through the stereo HDMI as expected (will be able to when the DTS Downmix ships in Aug), and the 192KHz is simply way extreme ;). All the 48KHz / 96KHz FLAC, WAV, and even WMA Pro are played - cool.

Full report soon.

ps. many thanks to 2L.no (Lindberg Lynd AS) for having the HD Audio testbench. If you are into Classical music, why not check out their catalog, all in HD!

Hey Untitled, welcome to AC Ryan forums! Can you tell us where you've got your information from? From our info, currently there are NO mediaplayers capable of playing 1080p 16 reframes. And that player uses Sigma chipsets and our information + tests confirms Sigma chipset support lower max reframes than Playon!HD.
