Post Re: [BETA] firmware version r3615 for POHD Standard
I finally found the time to test this FW, and the only 3 things i found were

1) The alignment of the ISO menu buttons.
2) The little bar on the bottom (when pressing the left/right keys) can only be removed by the above mentioned method, and should be a little bigger.
3) srt subtitles are still grey.

TV is a Samsung LE40B653

I really like the menu on the top of the screen, and the folder picture preview

I'm hoping for a speedy release of an official FW where these bugs are solved without YAMJ (just like this one) :)

And when you press the "slow" button on your remote it will zoom it to full screen and when you press it again it will zoom it out. Really cool stuff Image

Hey thanks for that. I've been going the long way round - browse folder, select, zoom, return, play etc. You've probably added days to my life and, at my age, every extra day counts!

No problem. I saw that it was not mentioned in the first post so I decided to share it 8-) 8-)

No way. I thought that the grey subtitles issue is gone forever :D But it seems that it is not quite so   Can you post screenshots of idx/sub subtitles and srt subtiles?

Oops......... my mistake, i switched from r3615 back to r2901 and back to r3615 again (to test the ISO alignment), it seems i have tested it in r2901 by mistake.

I am on r3615 now, and you are right, the subs are white

and to top this nice new feature.

when the picture is fullscreen after pressing the "slow" button.
try pressing the "ok" button , it will then play the movie ;)
without the need to enter the folder or zoom out the picture again.

;)

Also, if you then press the "info" key a couple of times the little green triangle/speed
indicator also disappears.

I love "hot keys".

Thanks for these useful "hot keys" tips.

just pressed the wrong button by accident (while i was testing the folder picture)
and the movie started so after some
trying i found out that pressing the ok button when the picture is full screen,
it starts the movie (dunno if it was the intention though).

plus need to test if it also starts the folder to play when,
you do this also in a music or picture folder.

so simply if it starts to play a music folder or a picture folder.

;)

Finally got the wireless dongle, but am totally NOT satisfied with it's performance.
Even when sitting next to my 300n router, i cannot watch/stream HD movies.
Did some testing and wireless copyspeed to PlayOn is max. 25 mb/s. This is even slower than my internetconnection (30mb/s). From PlayOn to PC the speed is even lower.
With my laptop a wireless copyjob goes with 100 mb/s !

As HD movies may require higher throughput than 25 mb/s, you will never be able to watch this.

So wireless performance is very poor. But also via wired connection, HD is not possible. It starts getting hickups after a few minutes.

Wireless and wired both stable

Did ya try all network tweaks that are in the how to section ?

Yes tried the Win7 tweaks but no result. Other tweaks i should try ?

I have an update on the wireless network performance: After about a minute, the connection is lost and PlayOn freezes for a while. After this, cannot get connected to shares on my PC.
Note: Sitting next to 300N router(WRT320N).

In network setup, still see the IP adres assigned to PlayOn. Even when i do a powercycle of the PlayOn, connection is not directly restored. It takes minutes before my 'workgroup' shows up again.

Just tested playback of an MP3, encoded at 192 kbps.Network throughput around 200kbps. Looks good. After 7 minutes, connection is lost again !.
Another test had a broken connection even after 2 minutes ! So i cannot even listen to simple MP3's. This really s. :!: ..s.

Found that a reboot is not really necessary: Unplugging and plugging back the Wi-Fi dongle (AC Ryan's) brings back the connection.

I mentioned problems with the WIFI connection several times, but never got a reaction from the DEV Team that they will investigate this problem. The connection over WIFI with the original dongle is not stable. I have this problem always when I listen to internet radio. It looks like a time out issue. Please AC Ryan take a look at it to try to improve it.
