I can't even get the blue AC ryan screen back on my tv, I have tried all 3 cables provided and two different tv's, this is very frustrating for something I have just shelled £200 on (incl HD which I haven't connected yet).
I still cant get my head round the machine not working first time out of the box, like every single other piece of electronic equipment that I by. seems to me there is a fawlty device maybe the adapter. dunno if you got it at a shop or by a webshop. but i would return and switch it.

Yes tried that, the first portion of the power light is red, to try and overcome known HDMI issues, I have switched to the av cables but still no luck, got it from a web shop in the UK, so going to be giving them a call in the morning I guess to arrange to send it back.

I have tried pushing the TV SYS button as suggested by someone else but nothing try this: you can also use the cold (or here called manual) install of r2901. take out the power connector. put in the usb stick with the R2901 firmware (install.img) on it (best is to use a fat32 or fat formated usb stick not bigger then 1GB) , " FW R2901 european "put the power connector back in, while holding the on/off button on the playonhd, untill the flashing procedure is started. (which means you will see an installing text on your tv, and a progress bar) after that you are probably have to use the tv sys button, i suggest to use the r2901 first. and make sure after the install is started don`t use any button on your remote, also wait for ten minutes if there is no screen or just the logo before using the tv sys button.

Re: [HOW TO] Update your Firmware and extensions
Hi Archienz
A couple of things you could try:
Connect your PC to the Square USB Port on the POHD and boot it - can you see your internal hard disk? If so, it may be just a display issue.
It may sound obvious but do not connect your PC To the square USB port on the POHD when you are trying to load the firmware. Note that it takes at 30+ seconds before the firmware upgrade process starts.
Try also: 1) Another USB stick (1GB or less) and format it as FAT32 (try full format to ensure no corruption) 2) Clear your cache and try downloading the firmware again incase there is any corruption in your original image file. 3) Ensure you have ONLY the .img file in the root directory of the USB stick
[This does not work] I initially tried installing the extensions using the same method as installing the firmware but found the POHD just displayed the startup screen.
4) Keep persevering - it really is worth it once you've managed to get the firmware and extensions loaded.

Re: [HOW TO] Update your Firmware and extensions
Hi,
Today I wanted to refresh my POMini's firmware Version: v7.06.r2956 since I've made some changes (linux based) that I'd like to reverse.
I started the update by using the GUI / System / System udate. The screen went black, reboot and now I only see the AC Ryan PlayOn!HD start up screen and it hangs right there.
Switched over to the cold firmware update; plugged in the USB Stick (1 Gb, FAT32, with only the install.img file on it), pushed in the power on and kept pushing, turned on the power, waited for 1 minute...
Nothing happens. I do not see the USB being initialized, which I do see for the LAN (flashing green light).
Retried about 6 times, using different USB Sticks and also a different firmware version (the older one Firmware Ver. v7.06.r2898).
Again, all fails.....
Seems it's bricked. Don't know what to do more except returning it. Any clues on how this happened and how to resolve?

Re: [HOW TO] Update your Firmware and extensions
Unfortunately, didn't help. Tried NTFS, FAT32 and FAT16 but all fail / same results. Guess I'll have to bring the unit back to the store, grrrrrrrrr. Still, strange situation. Thanks again.
