Tried hanewin NFS and configured it the way it should, but still cannot connect to my NFS share on my POHD, added hanewin to the firewall exeptions and allowed all users to access the shared folder.. Would be cool if samba would do the trick, what firewall are you referring to? I even tried disabling the firewall on my router, should I also try disabling my win7 firewall just to try if the speeds are better.. you could try that yes, but adding a rule like i suggested should also work. plus use also the tip from Kraakie to disable some settings in the network connection. and using static addresses wil certainly help as well.

Using static addresses, disabled win7 firewall completely, using the tip from kraakie, but still when trying to watch a movie like 'a serious man' that only has a scene of kids running in on the beach from minute 42, it still stutters.. You dont have any issues with just basic windows 7 folder sharing when playing 1080p movies over your network, guess my acryan pohd mini is a monday morning version..

Re: [HOW TO] Share Folders on Windows 7 with youtube tutorial
Hi there,
Short Problem Network authentication is REALLY slow.
Detailed Problem I have made a shortcut in network to 192.168.0.199 with username acryan and a password. I have setup this user on my server and have given him access to d: I have also give "EveryOne" access to d: When I try to connect to this short-cut, the ACR starts to think (perhaps negotiate network protocol, I don't know). This takes up to 2 min before it return, login successful. When I go to D, it quickly shows the directory listing. When I go to D:\Movies the listing is quick. When I go to D:\Movies\<any movie directory> this can take some time (30 sec) When I go to play a movie it takes up to 1 min to start playing. Once playing the playback is smooth. How can I make the network log in faster?
Setup I am using a ACR-PV73100 Playon! HD - HDMI 1.3 | Network | Full HD Media Player. It does not have a HDD. ACR -> Connected (Cat-6) to my D-Link DIR655 Router (Gigabit) using static IP adress on 192.168.0.102. D-Link -> Connected (Cat-6) to a switch (Gigabit). The switch is connected (Cat-6) to 2 computers a server (static 192.169.0.199) and a 2nd pc. The server has Win 7 64 bit Pro Eng
Question 2: Is there any way to store the password without a HDD, for instance by inserting a SDcard and storing the password on there?
Regards and thanks, Jasper

Re: [HOW TO] Share Folders on Windows 7 with youtube tutorial
Ok guys I have got my network situation working. The problem I had was that I had created a second administrator account with no password and as a result I couldn't get it work but as soon as I added a password to the account I managed to get it working. If I had read the "how to" more accurately I wouldnt have made the mistake !! The reason I didn't add a password to the second admin account I created initially was because I want my win 7 PC to boot directly to my desktop with out asking me which user to log on as. I resolved this by doing Start > run then running the command "control userpasswords2" without the quotes. In the User Accounts window which opens uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" So I now boot straight to my desktop and my POHD is working Yaaay

Regards and thanks, Jasper question 1: try not to share a drive but the movie directory, and see if authentication goes better. question 2: i really don`t think that will work, but you might try it.
