OK, will try it again, clean installed all, before that removed partions and formated it, so all data and parameters should have been gone. But ok, will try again.

OK problem solved, was sharing it to a specified group and to everybody.... re-configured all and its working now as it should be

Tried everything that I could find on this forum to optimize the speed when streaming over my 100mbit cabled network from my core i7 920 pc running on windows 7 64 bit, but I still cannot get one single 1080p mkv movie to stream without any scene stuttering..

Anyone here have a solution for this, as it seems more and more that the POHD mini just cannot cope with 1080p streams. Every movie has some scenes with a higher bitrate, and this always causes stuttering.

So far the POHD hasnt been working for me, they promised me 1080p streaming, but it seems like it cannot get this done properly..

Please help!

I am having problems with my windows 7 streaming to my POHD. I have tried to share files from my windows 7 PC to my POHD with limited success. The point I am at is that I can now log onto my PC and I can see the shared folder and access it but when I access the folder holding the movie file (DivX, Xvid) it is not visible.

On my windows 7 PC the files are kept at D:/Video and my video file would be in folders under that directory like D:/Video/lost/lost.avi

I have set up the share on the /Video directory but I cannot see any of the avi files or any other type (mkv etc) on the POHD.

However when using my xbox or PS3 to stream avi from my pc I have no problems.

Can anyone help with this problem ?

Firewall have been switched off and I have followed the guides in this post and these too

Hello Folks,

I'm new to the Forum and I just got my PlayOn HD mini 3 days back. The device perform excellently as long as the network is not involved.

Here my setup

I have my laptop running Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
I have a wireless b\g router, to which I connect my laptop through the wireless. The router also supports a 100 Mbps wired Eth link.
I have connected the Mini to the router via a wired connection.

I have performed all the registry hacks on mentioned in the guide ( Yes I have verified them too )
I have got of the Homegroup and am on the Workgroup
I have a guest account turned on and also another Administrative account called ( Playonhd) with no password.

My problem is strange.

When my laptop is connected to the network via the wireless, I do not see the Workgroup option under network in the Mini, but I can browse the external drives connected to the play on from my laptop and perform file operations on it.

If I try connecting via My Shortcuts by entering the IP, I just ger Logon Failed. ( I have tried both entering no values and tried it with the Admin account I created, but it just does not connect )

My IPs in this setup are
Laptop : 192.168.1.2
POHD Mini : 192. 168.1.3


Now If connect my laptop through a wired connection to the router, I get to see the WORKGROUPS, my laptop listed ( HOST NAME). I can also browse my shares and play content from there. I can play a file that has close to 14Mbps as the bitrate and it plays really smooth.

My IPs in this setup are
Laptop : 192.168.1.4
POHD Mini : 192. 168.1.3

Can anyone help me access my laptop via the wireless. Thanks so much in advance

I also thought just incase if the Playon needed an IP that is ahead of the Laptop in order to access it,

I changed the IP to

POHD Mini : 192.168.1.2
Laptop : 192.168.1.3 in the wireless setup and it still didn't work.

did you use the registery tweak?
rename network to "workgroup" ?
which firmware?
added a user in the shared security named "everyone" ?

plus switch on mediastreaming in this field:
trough configurationscreen, all configurations, homegroup.?

did you switch the Nat on?
do you use static for wired and dynamic for wireless?
if so, keep in mind that the static adresses should be outside the dhcp range.

is the Upnp option (if available in the router) on?
do you use "workgroup" also as the workgroupname?

Tried both of them, but to no use .. is there a good tutorial available for NFS usage on the playon? I only found this youtube video for the xtreamer..

Tried hanewin NFS and configured it the way it should, but still cannot connect to my NFS share on my POHD, added hanewin to the firewall exeptions and allowed all users to access the shared folder..

I simply use the samba which is here a lot faster then with nfs.

did you also mad a rule inside your firewall to give the entire local network access.
i just added a rule for my complete local range and added the static addresses as an extra,
to allow any access.

i have to admit i have a second router between that local network and the Internet where the firewall is more critical to the outside network.

Would be cool if samba would do the trick, what firewall are you referring to? I even tried disabling the firewall on my router, should I also try disabling my win7 firewall just to try if the speeds are better..

Don't use a guest account

Make a user like user playon with a password

Give that user read rights on the shares

if the playon comes with a logon screen fill in the user data

Then it probaly be working

Also turn on Upnp if yooujr router supports it
