hey thanks man. as im not home i cant try it yet. but when u use program do you use it on cmd prompt or what can i expect?

well yeah since its a command line interface... but most of these programs are daemons and using scripting, usually start on POHD startup and then on remotely controlled or used. like transmission, a popular BT client, runs its daemon on POHD and then using FF or any other browser you can log into its web gui and control it, not needing to go back to the command line everytime. if that answers your query !

that sure does clear a lil of my doubts. thanks

anyone here uses vlc ipkg? can share about how you use it?

If that vlc is similar like vlc player, then I'm not using it.
What is the point of you installed vlc?

Btw, you installed vlc after you install Optware right?
Do you know how much space left after you install it?

Thanks. - Arc.

Does anybody knows which tool can be uninstalled/removed from Optware installed tools please?
And can I just do " # ipkg remove [apps] " to remove that apps please?
Thanks.

Cheers - Arc.

Well, my NTFS partition is now left 200 GB the rest of them fully occupied which I dont have other space to move them to do repartitioning, unless you are saying I can do repartition of Opt partition without disturbing my NTFS partition? - if that is the case - please guide which topic I should follow? And how to do that?

I'm very happy if I can increase my Opt partition without disturbing my NTFS partition.
Please enlighten me, bud.

Thanks. - Arc.

Transmission works like a charm.

that has got to do more with the watchdog and movemedia script which got installed with the standard installation of optware. simply go and delete the two scripts under the cron folders (i think one resides in cron.minute and one in cron.15minute, check all) in the /tmp/hdd/root/etc folder. once you delete them it all will start working well. i am assuming you have ext3 where you have transmission downloading to.

thats because you need to finetune it a bit. i can always assist you... about your previous query, just search the threads for one mentioning change of main partition Filesystem. it has details of how using a linux utility called Gparted, you can alter the size of the partitions. check my signature for link
