Post Re: [HOW TO] Share Folders on Windows 7 with youtube tutorial
I also run Windows 7 x64 on my computer and had some trouble to open the shared folders from my POHD.
After following the above steps I could succesfully logon and saw the shares on my PC. But when I wanted to enter one of the shares, the POHD came up with the message that it cannot logon.
Huh..... weird, I was already logged on I thought. :think: :think:
Being a computer tech, i could not understand why it didn't work.
Everything was configured as it should be and i can logon to my PC and see the shares (shared folders).

Here is the situation:
I had 3 shares which I wanted to present to the POHD.
- Mijn Muziek, shares as Muziek;
- Mijn Afbeeldingen, shared as Foto's;
- Mijn Video's, shared as Video's.

As I was investigating the problem, I clicked on the "Muziek" share and to my surprise it was opened on my POHD. Before I only tried to open the "Video's" share, that didn't work. Also the share that was called "Foto's" could not be opened. What's the difference? :shock:
I turned out to be the ' reading sign in the share name.
After renaming my Foto's share to Foto and my Video's share to Video, I could succesfully open the shares with my POHD. :lol:

So my advise, don't use reading signs in your share names just normal characters (A to Z, 0 to 9).
Then you should not experience the problem i had to access my shared folders. :? :|

Good Luck,

Dennis

I had some troubles with sharing stuff from my PC to the Playon!HD, figured it out now what I did wrong so thats no problem anymore. Everytime I wanted to have a look in a shared map on my PC it came up with the login screen wich didn't work with anything. Ok solved, but now I see the old shared maps on my Playon!HD, so lets say, Photos and Photos2, only 1 map called photos on my PC so the first map comes up with the login screen and the second one is ok, no login screen and I can see my pictures.
How do I get rid of the shortcut (or whatever its called) photo and rename photo2?

Hmm maybe try to reflash your firmware.

Try the manual way

disconnect the power

Put in the usb stick with he firmware

Press the on/off button on the ryan
keep it pressed while you reconnect the power

Keep it pressed till the firmware upgrade starts
This will also resets all your parameters

Look I just completely re-installed my Playon!HD (Followed the How to Guide) and after that all shortcuts and maps showed up as I said. So every map is there 2 or 3 times, and just the 2nd or 3rd map is workable.

Even if I "unshare" the map on my PC, the map is still there on my Playon

The manual way only resets your settings default it doesen't remove any data :)
