The A.C Ryan DVR doesn’t allow search Radio Channel. And it’s difficult to find good radio channel.

There is way how to add your favorite channel to your favorites from http://www.shoutcast.com .

1. Find your favorite channel on http://www.shoutcast.com. (in my case Radio Clara FM)
2. Move mouse indicator on TUNE IN! button and write down id number from status bar of you internet browser:
In this case, it is 749181



3. Connect to the node via telnet. (for windows users Start->Run… , type telnet <IP adrress> of your player.
Eg. telnet 10.0.0.5

4, Write login name: root (it is factory setting)
5. Go to /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer/
cd /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer/
6. There is NetFavorite.ini


8. Add a new channel to NetFavorite.ini
For editing NetFavorite.ini can be used vi editor.
vi NetFavorite.ini

Press <i> to enter to the insert mode

Add a new channel according of specification for the channel (see picture from http://www.shoutcast.com), in our case [favorite_3].

To save changes press <ESC> and then write and <enter>


7. Now the radio station should be added to your favorite list

I tried several things, and your walkthru works like a charm,
but I got a question too, I tried to manual add a radiostation that
is not on shoutcast, it seems imposible, somehow the list refers
automaticly to shoutcast, did you or anyone else for that find a
way round that?

The pity is that this player was for my friend and now I can't tune it. Basically I think that there should be workaround for that. I think that there is some configuration file where is written http://www.shoutcast.com/ . (I'm not sure about that...)

Playon! DVR-TV is based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BusyBox, http://www.busybox.net/ . ~ so usual linux, unix command works there. When you write IP address of you can see that some web server is also there.

So check it out.

Will it be possible in a next update to be able to select a radiostation to be added to favorites? I am very impressed by the solution as described above however, doing this everytime you have nice radiostation is a bit of work.

i have tried your scenario, but seems not working, i have syntax that i used below, i believe my main problems that i cannot get the ini file saved (tried <esc> then <enter>, please let me know my exact problem

the simple way without editing is to press "menu" button in the remote control while you're inside the channel you're listening

and it's only lookin in the shoutcast channels
