Post Bought a PlayOn! at Comex, having some problems with it
Hi,

Just bought a PlayOn! at Comex Singapore, copying directly from CPU to file is fine, its like a mass storage. but been trying to get the network part working since sunday but sadly still does not work. apparently when i tried to connect to the shared folder on the PlayOn! it will prompt for a net Userid and net Password. Nothing works and it fails to login. Just trying to see how i could make use of the streaming media feature and as well as well as transferring media file from my PC or Laptop wireless.

Hope someone will point out some information on this as the manual is not very informative.

Thanks.

Regards,
akirostar

Hello,

Please do check if your windows and other software firewall is turned off before logging in. if you have a username and password when logging in to your PC use that or if you dont have just type anything on the blank area.

Hello Joe,

Another question if you are using router to connect, are you connecting to a router that is on visible or invisible mode?

Do let us know.

Hi all,

i also gt the player from Comex, the DVR is great when playing movies but unfortunately i cant get the tv recording work. i follow the manual and check with the technical stuff of ac ryan still cant get it works.

Any of you have such issues?

I have my plasma TV's video out and audio L/R out, connect to DVR's video in and audio L/R in. I want DVR to record TV program, yet it find no signal/image from the TV.

I also try an experiment, using the dvd player to play a show and use DVR to record it down. Finally, there is image and no sound heard. (Fyi, DVD player's video out and audio L/R out, connect to DVR's video in and audio L/R in)

Is there any connections that I connect wrongly or miss out... How to get DVR work properly?

Pls advise asap, need help. Thanks!

Can you check and try another RCA cable. Recording from a DVD works also the same with the TV, from the source output to the DVR input. If you are recording TV program and your setup is like what you have said, please make sure that you are tuned in to the chanel you want to record when pressing DVR's record button. For the playback, you can use one of three output of the DVR. DVR output must now connect to the TV input, then set the video mode number you connect the cable for you to see DVR menu.

Hope this help.

Hi Roger,

Will go and test using your suggestion...

Thanks for the advise.

By the way, I tried the connection which is the HDMI cable connect from the TV to the DVR, and the TV's video and audio cables (output) connect to the video and audio cables (input) of DVR. I switch on to HDMI-1 (av mode), I see only the video 1 of DVR is violet screen blank. Hee try and error only...anyway, this method dont work either.
