 Question about discontinued products
I have noticed that a A.C.Ryan product has a two year lifetime.
During these two years, many of the features on the Mini never worked. It is hard to call them "living features". Some of the features are still waiting to get a lifetime. As a buyer of the Mini I feel really screwed up by A.C.Ryan.
But, I still have my Mini. Some features work, some don't. A.C.Ryan has made this problem my problem. They don't care. That is not okay. Not at all. Not by any company.
If I decide to buy a new product from A.C.Ryan, how will I know if it works or not? Can I trust products from A.C.Ryan?
And - please dear moderators - keep this thread open and give A.C.Ryan a chance to communicate their thoughts on this.
What am I supposed to do with a product bought i January 2011 that has features that doesn't work? A.C.Ryan have said that they would make them work. I have waited for a firmware update. Instead this information about discontinuing the Mini and other products due to "EOL".

What specific features are you waiting for?

For example: not crashing.
Everytime I try to open up a shortcut to my shared Music folder, the PlayOn!HD Mini crashes. Apart from all the random crashes that occur.
It's not even about features, but just about making a product that actually works well!

 Re: Question about discontinued products
While I understand your frustrations with the product issues and the lack of fixes, the questions are unlikely to be addressed through these forums. I do recommend you take your issues directly to them at the Singapore office. Re: Question about discontinued products
Sorry Andy, but I disagree. The problem is that AC Ryan's not communicating anything, not even through this official forum. They are still active at the Singapore Hardwarezone forum however, but without mentioning the current situation. Wrong priorities I'd say! The solution should be that the remaining staff (for instance Roger, but there are others) give a statement on the situation and become active in the forum again. Then other customers can benefit from it as well. No company goes bankrupt without a warning, management and staff must have known this for weeks. If they really want to continue the Singapore branch under the same brand they better wisen up. The move to discontinue the support for some products made a lot of customers unhappy, not even letting them know how things will be might just kill off the last ones. By the way Andy, I think it's great you're still active here. Kraakie has stopped, Dirk is as active as his health allows, Duivels hasn't been around much in the last few weeks (on holiday?) and while Reficul and Koets still have mod status they haven't been posting for ages. So it's mainly you now and I wanted to let you know I appreciate it a lot. Keep up the good work!!

 Re: Question about discontinued products
Youtube was fixed in the last (sadly it's really the last!) beta firmware 8755. This firmware does have some other problems due to a different NTFS driver, but it's the only firmware available with this fix. But when it comes to NTFS handling both drivers are buggy, so there is always a chance of file corruption.

 Re: Question about discontinued products
You just have to wait until they get the server migration completed and everything working properly.
