Post AC Ryan miss up my setup - why ?
Hi
I have a panasonic GT30 conected with a HDMI cable to my Onkyo Receiver HDMI
output .

I have a BD player connected to the HDMI input on my receiver.

Everything is working fine. I can send audio both ways. And the signal from my BD is OK on TV

But when I connect the AC RyanHD to the HDMI input on my receiver the TV and receiver wont communication any more. I get the signal from the AC ryan to TV.

Any idea ?

Yeah.

It's probably HDMI-CEC that is the issue. The PlayOnHD disables it.

You have to disable a pin on the HDMI cable connected to your PlayOn! unit.

I think it is pin 13 on the HDMI cable. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

The easiest way that I found was to use a thin sliver of insulation tape... Very thin, just to cover pin 13.

Have search and good luck.

Cheers.

A.V.

Or you can buy a non-CEC HDMI cable.

The issue is part of the Realtek hardware and SDK, and not limited to AC Ryan players. The chipset in the V1 players has now been superseded and I suspect the Realtek support for older chipsets and SDKs is not as good as we all would like it to be.
