Hello Playon!DVR-HD owners!

2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Shutdown the player.
4. Press and hold down the power button in front of the player for 15 seconds.
5. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

System update method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Go to Setup>Misc>USB Upgrade and press 'Enter' on your remote control to confirm.

Post Re: [BETA] ACR-PV76120_v8.5.x.8755_Playon!DVR-HD
I am missing a information:
Have the FW the new NTFS-Driver ?
What is the Basis from this FW: a new r7716 with new NTFS-Driver or r7317.v3 or r7317.v2 or r7317.v1 or r5440 or ???
Changelog History ? From what ist that the only one Fix ?

Is Telnet open ?
Is Swap-Partition aktivated ? (in r7317.v3 is Swap aktivated. In 7317.v2 and r7317.v1 and r5440 not)
I know 7317.v2 and r7317.v1 is no more to download, but with Realtek one never knows what a FW them as a basis use. Only so it can be explained that fixed mistake are again in a new FW.

PS. Thank you for the relatively quickly repair of the YouTube problem.

A new firmware, a lot of new interesting problems without solution (impossible not only to arrange the order of the TV channels as you wish but now you can't even change the channel you watch).
The Playon!DVRHD has the capabilities of a very cheap mediaplayer while the DTV section can’t even stretch the image.
I think that the joke have to finish! Somebody have to provide us a reliable firmware or find a way to have a rebate for a faulty product

Has Realtek open up the code the their chip yet??
When is this project going to be open sourced?? I'm sure there is many guru's out there that could do great things with this.

@mickgalt
You'll need to ask Realtek that one :D
I'm sure there are a good few people out there who could improve things if we had the source code from Realtek.

Andy

Flashed twice using the recommended installation mode. Cannot tune any Australian TV channels. Looks like another firmware JOKE from the comedy masters at ACRyan!

The BIG problem here is that "fixes" for two bugs/shortcomings (yes 2 and that's as claimed by ACR) have been provided to the Official 7317 since 1 Feb 2012 (although there was the replacement on 8 Feb 2012). (I'm still on the previous RC as the reports on 7317 were so horrendous I have been waiting....)

I am sure the buglist is pretty long and these 2 fixes will not satisfy many - and that's IF they work and nothing further has been broken in the process.

Seems that only if the bug gets fixed as a byproduct of working on their current products (I refer to the POHD as a legacy product) and they can be bothered, then they might put the fix on the firmware for our box.

Crumbs from the table is not good enough IMHO.

Lesson is - don't go software-on-chip, get an open platform with user/developer input allowed.

So on the basis that we've been abandoned by ACR, where do we go from this point?

How about we post our suggestions here, I would be interested to see which systems have been put together: - someone to design the wishlist first?

HTPC basics (which CPU-mobo, and which OS *nix, Win? probably doesn't matter)
LAN wired/wireless
quiet
IPTV
Youtube
remote access via web including wake on LAN
full codecs, and fully upgradeable
full HD
..
..

and finally. The POHD should have delivered all that I actually want, but it did not, alas :(
