Hello Playon! owners!

A new Beta Firmware Release is available for the Playon! Series. This Update fixes the 'cannot play media file' error message in youtube and contains the new/updated ntfs driver we tested on the hd2/mini2 previously.
Below you will find links to download this new firmware including instructions on how to install this firmware. Please make sure you get the right firmware version for your product.

Changelog:

* Fixed 'cannot play media file' error in Youtube client
* New/Updated NTFS driver

The flashing Procedures: We have 2x separate ways to flash your firmware. We strongly recommend you to use the ‘Safe-Mode method’ when it’s the first time you install this new firmware.

Safe-Mode method (*recommended!):
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Shutdown the player.
4. Press and hold down the power button in front of the player for 15 seconds.
5. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

System update method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Go to Setup>Misc>USB Upgrade and press 'Enter' on your remote control to confirm.
4. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

!!DO NOT POWER OFF THE UNIT WHILE FLASHING! THIS MIGHT CAUSE DAMAGE AND RESULT IN DEFECT HARDWARE!

So if you don't use it for YouTube is it worth updating for the ntfs driver? I only stream to the mini or very rarely use a USB stick...?

The new NTFS driver has some problems as well, so if your Mini is working fine don't touch it. Be sure to have a backup of your files on the USB stick/drive however.

Thanks for info, I'll let it be, apart from the occasional freeze mine is working fine...

No if you're mainly using it for streaming and have no further issues we recommend you to stay on the current firmware.
