I got quite a lot of media files fr China in the above format. Will the playon be able to play or support? Thks

I'd never heard of it, and from what little I could find out about it on Google it looks to be an encrypted file using a proprietary or closed format, not a standard one. The only thing I could find that said it played it was something called "Pipiplayer", and I couldn't even find anywhere I could download a file to test.

If you can you provide a (legal) link to a test file I'd be happy to try it, but TBH unless it's based on a standard codec and/or container it looks unlikely that it'll play without conversion on the Mini2, or any of the common media players for that matter.

Thks for the kind revert. Such files maybe downloaded legally from http://www.pipi.cn/ as they mainly consists of free to air tv shows in China. This format is very popular within china but not out of it. And as you are aware, the onset of media player has yet to catch on in China with many still using their computers to play back such media or maybe could be due to such limitation itself

Problem is the whole site is in chinese and makes it difficult to navigate unless you are well verse in chinese. I can uplod a file to you if you have an ftp etc. Regardless, many thanks for looking into it and just so you know, had not came across any player able to accomodate such a format so far. Thus if AcRyan can crack it, then it will definitely be the Player to the chinese market worldwide. Cheers

You may be better converting them with software as I seriously doubt any player manufacturers outside of China will be interested in supporting a non-standard format such as this.
