 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
Hi, I have been running v4824 for a while and finally decided to upgrade to this version. The major problem I encountered was that I am not able to connect to my wireless AP with hidden SSID. This was NOT a problem with the v4824 version.
I know this has been addressed many times on the forum, but YES I want to keep my SSID hidden and not for the very security reason.
So my questions are: - Can this be solved in a next release? - Meanwhile is there a solution which I can implement/test to get this working other than reverting back completely to v4824? Like replacing the wireless drivers with the older (v4824) wireless drivers with the use of the hpd tool? If so can someone tell me which files I should replace?

@EmBee
I do not think that this support will be implemented anymore. Sad to inform you that for your situation, you have to revert back to the previous firmware or if you can used LAN then you can continue to use the new platform.

Roger, I am really disappointed to read this. Somewhere in the forum I read that this is due to a lack of support in the used REALTEC SDK. Why is it that a company specialized in network devices won't support such a commonly used function? Is ACRyan as a manufacturer not able to somehow "force" REALTEC to (re-)implement this neat function if buyers from ACRyan devices requests this? EmBee

Still no Youtube.... Seems I spend more time fixing problems than watching movies with this piece of crap. Have it for about two years now, one fault after another, after a firmware update you have to spend 2 hours to get all your settings back, 3 hours to get it back on your network, only to find that something else isn't working. Going to buy someting els and then runover this thing with my car or something. Seems to be the only fun thing you can do with it.

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
hey guys, have any of you experienced "audio imbalance" when playing any movies? What I meant with "audio imbalance" is , when you suddenly had an increase of volume when in the movie you entered some action scenes/shooting scenes / fighting scenes. I saw this happened with hundreds of movies, or I can say all. Note for everyone: you can not notice this with only TV speakers. For everyone with speakers with amplifiers and subwoofers. Did you notice this, or is it only something wrong with my amplifiers? Secondly, I go through to option, and there is two option that I did not understand: - Audio NIGHT MODE : what is this ? - Misc HDD Spin Down : what is this ? Can someone explain to me? thanks

It's because your tv's speakers have worse dynamic range than your "real" speakers. Dynamic is basically the difference in the volume of the loudest and most silent sound. Quote: - Audio NIGHT MODE : what is this ? It limits the dynamic range, so the difference between loud and silent sounds isn't so big. Might be what you are after in the first part of your question. Quote: - Misc HDD Spin Down : what is this ?
it stops the harddrive when not in use for some time. Makes the "wakeup" to take slightly longer.

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
I'm getting the dreaded "Unknown hardware! The software can't work" message, when the playonHD mini is trying to boot. I have three playonHD mini units and they all have this problem with the new firmwares.
Btw. are there different hardware versions of the playonHD mini? My units are older than two years. That could explain why the new firmwares work for most people (it seems looking at this thread), but not for others.
