I have 2 issues with this firmware:

1) Power off in Youtube XL freezes box (not dramatical)
2) Youtube "normal" - every video produces an error message (i think file can not be played or something) - i can't play a single video. In youtube xl all tested videos work, but i can't look fullscreen, right?

bye

Anyone else Problems with youtube?

There is a general problem with YouTube since a couple of weeks for all models. AC Ryan is aware of the problem.

Any information as to when we can expect an updated firmware?

It has been more than 3 months since this latest firmware was released and thats an eternity for a player that still has so many problems.

AC Ryan has never published any release dates for firmware updates. You can make your own prediction based on the interval between the previous (official) releases.

I won't hold my breath as I don't think much will change for the better anyway. Its not like I am expecting much to change as they've had enough time to fix everything from minor to major bugs and the ones that I've been dealing with were there with the first firmware are still there in the most recent one.

FF and RW bugs with chapter skipping in iso files and mkv files still present (unless I specify a set bitrate in Handbrake for video but with iso files that can't be changed), slow FF and RW still present, lockups from time to time when initiating a file transfer over the network, sound still drops out from time to time after pausing then resuming video playback (a quick RW fixes it), existing files don't show in destination folders that I copy files to over the network from within the player = when I copy files over the network, I can't tell what is or isn't in a folder I am copying to to see if its already there when there are multiple files involved.

Hi Mikael,

When I'm trying to enter a network location through the shortcuts, my player restarts itself. When I'm doing the same using file management, everything works fine... This happend after installing the r7317 firmware... i upgraded it in safe mode and also re-installed already. Do you have an idea?

Thanks, Rob

This is one of the main reasons I had for going back to an earlier firmware.

Hi.

I have one major problem since installing this firmware. It often freezes/hangs when i push stop or return in a video, it also happens randomly in the middle of a video. And I cant do nothing but pull the plug when it happens.

Bye

PLEASE NOTE: This is my personal opinion and I have no inside knowledge.

First thing I want to state:-

The world does not revolve around the EU. You guys are getting as EU-Centric as the Americans that think the world revolves around the US!!

I doubt whether AC Ryan thinks that the world does either. I have always suspected that the players are made in China like the other 99.99% of Media Players, and I see no need for ACR SIngapore to close down at present and they may well maintain the ACR business worldwide. althoug, if I were them, I would look a a brand name change as ACR Nederlands have done a great job of borking the ACR Brand,

Secondly:
In actual fact, it maybe a boon, as Singapore based companies are very commercially oriented, have far better ties with China and Taiwan (Realtek), are well versed in providing products to the West and there is little if no language barrier with Hardware and Software Development Teams. Far easier than Dutch->English->Chinglish->Chinese.

With this said, I will hopefully expect an announcement from ACR Singapore in the Near Future.
