Well I think I got it working OK and most content over. More content can be shifted later on an opportunity basis.

Final configuration:-
(I had to make some changes to my original plan due to my stuffups and after working out space requirements, etc)

Drive 1 = 2Tb Seagate Flextor...
1Gb Linux Swapfile Partition
10Gb EXT3 Partition for Jukeboxes, etc
1.75Tb for content (Television Series)
Drive 2 - 1Tb Seagate Flextor
1Gb Linux Swapfile Partition
901Gb EXT3 Partition for comtent (Movies)

This seems to verify that.

I hope I am correct and one of you can confirm.

Given that Andy will want me to test stuff too, where do you guys want me to go now? Next Step?

Regards
Greg

Just rebuilt Jukeboxes over the network and I am really chuffed.

One of the problems that I used to have previously was that I had to reboot after loading a new Jukebox before I could do anything with it.

This problem no longer exists.

I rebuilt my movies jukebox and can now initialise and paly multiple jukeboxes without any rebooting.

Objective 1 achieved !!!!

Now I need t get the relative playerpath sorted so I can consolidate jukeboxes on one drive.

I now have the jukeboxes living on Drive J: and the content on Drive M: & T:

What I had to do is first find the relative paths of each drive so this was my instant Linux lesson..

I fred up Putty and loggeid in as root.
Then typed "ls" = List or Dos "DIR" equivalent.

From my previous research on this forum, I knew that the drives were mounted in tmp/usbmounts so I typed in "ls tmp/usbmounts" which returned sda6, sda7 & sdb6...

To find out what each drive actually contained, I then typed in "ls tmp/usbmounts/sda6" etc, etc and identified each drive & contents.

I then modified the playerpaths after a little trial an error in my library file like below:-
<playerpath>file://../../../../../../tmp/usbmounts/sdb6/Movies/Matroska/Standard
Definition/</playerpath>

Lo and behold, it all works....

Really pleased and the unit seems eminently more stable.

Now Andy & Duivels can let me know what they want me to test.!!!

Greg

The only problem that I now seem to be having is that sometimes the drives mount in a different order (Exactly the same bootup procedure every time) which screws everything up.

Is there a way to fprce the correct mounting in the startup script?

As a general comment, the work I have done is well worth it.

I have been working on testing some YAMJ mods and I must have rebuilt and reloaded at least 50 Jukeboxes and not one complaint from the MIni 2. No hangs, no reboots, no files getting randomly trashed, network speed 4x faster.

The stability has improved 1000%

I would thoroughly recommend this to any user and would be only to willing to assist.

It turned out to be amazingly simple....

In hindsight of course. :D

But why is the size your swap partition 5 times the real memory size of your device?
