 Audio problem
The last couple of days I keep experiencing problems with my audio. For some reason the player keeps playing 5ch stereo in stead of DTS or Dolby Digital 5.1 I’ve tried several movies/series but that’s not the point.
After several reboots, clearing cache of apps, changing audio output to LPCM / Pass-through the audio play’s as it should be. But the next day it’s gone again. Without shutting down the Veolo.
I’ve tried several app’s (Default media player, MX Player, Daroon) but the problem exists is all app’s should it should be caused by the Veolo it self.
Is anybody familiar with this problem and most important is there a solution for this annoying issue?

 Re: Audio problem
Can you confirm to us that all the series and movies you have are all using multi channel audio like DTS and Dolby? Multichannel AAC will give normal 5ch speaker output. The player if connected to an amplifier, the audio output setting must remain as Pass-through. So far i have been using firmware 932 and all the movies I tried gave me the correct result for audio output. By the way I just used the default player.
You can try to give us more details about your setup, and the video file details if possible. Sorry for any inconvenience.

 Re: Audio problem
Thnx for the reply.
I can confirm the MKV files have multiple audio tracks because once the audio is passed trough correctly i can switch between 5.1 & DTS. When it's not working i can also choose audio tracks but the Harman Kardon amp (Connected with glass) does not switch to the correct output and just stay's on 5 ch stereo.
When the problem exists it happens on with all movies and series.
I'm also on the latest firmware.

 Re: Audio problem
Again sorry for any inconvenience. I tried playing MKV file too and so far the result was fine, we are using Onkyo amp. Currently the only way i know to isolate your problem is to try another player or to try another amplifier, but it will be impossible for end user like you unless you would like to change your player and give the new replacement a try.
Also, I noticed from your previous post please correct me if I'm wrong. That you did not shut down the Veolo and after that this issue will surface. Can you let me know while you left the Veolo ON, is it the same case with your Amp? I will try the exact setup on my part and see if I really can duplicate it.

 Re: Audio problem
Unfortunately the problem still persists.
Yesterday i found out how to resolve it temporarily but i did not found out what was causing the problem.
Today again i resolved the issue by rebooting the veolo, switching sound output to SPDIF and HDMI playing the movie, stopping the movie, switch output back to SPDIF only en restart the movie.
Today the only other app launched on the veolo is Daroon. I hope you can reproduce the issue and hopefully solve it cause it is quite annoying.

 Re: Audio problem
Sorry to say that I cannot reproduce this issue on my part. By the way most probably the only difference is the amplifier we used, I'm using Onkyo here. If you still having the same intermittent result, then I would suggest to give a replacement a try. You can check your vendor on how to do it. Sorry for any inconvenience.

 Re: Audio problem
Never mind. The veolo "bricked" last Monday during a reboot. All a saw was AcRyan, defining Entertainment and it hang there. Tried a hard reset using the reset button and the power cable and that showed the android logo coming from a box for a few seconds and after that an exclamation mark and a reboot. Not very sad I returned the veolo to the shop and bought an other device from an other brand. The veolo is a nice idea but nowhere near finished / useable. Sorry to say cause I’ve been using my Playon!HD for years without any problems.

 Re: Audio problem
I'm also having this issue, with firmware 932... I'm using an Onkyo TX-SR309 AV receiver connected via HDMI, and I have issues with the unit outputting only 2.0 channel PCM on movies with DTS or AC-3 bitstream.
I can usually remedy this, usually by going in to the audio configuration, and clicking passthrough (even though it is already selected).
The files I'm having issues with definitely have 5.1 channel audio (as it works sometime).
This is annoying, and rather problematic when entertaining (as guests get confused as to why I need to stop and start the movie and play with settings!)

 Re: Audio problem
I just had a thought, whenever I boot the device I get the error message:
Sorry!
The application Settings (process com.android.setting) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Also, wired LAN does not come up correctly on boot time, I always have to disable and re-enable it. Could these things be related?
