I am not sure if this have been mention. I have found some problems with the new firmware as belows:-

1 - when trying to copy files from POHD to another HDD, select a few files to copy, but, only copy one files or the files not copy at all. It restart the POHD. Any solution?

2 - Some MP4 extension cannot play which either no sound or cannot fast forward (which hang if use the fast forward). Test the video in computer, it can play perfectly. Any solution?

For the time being I only found these problem only. Hope to hear others reply regarding the problems.

For all info, I use safe-mode for updating the firmware everytime and already try a few time. But, still problems occurs.

to 1) - this is a confirmed bug in this SDK. Basically it can happen that the player will reboot when you try copying via the players GUI. Instead you could hook up the player to the PC/Laptop with the included USB cable and copy the files that way.

to 2) - Do note that MP4 is only a container. This means it can have many different variations of codecs and some of them might not be supported. You can find the supported ones on our homepage here: http://acryan.com/product/playonhd/specifications/
With a tool such as mediainfo you can grab information from your file and compare it to our officially supported speclist: http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en

When I try to enable ftp, I get an error saying that there is no HDD.
How do I resolve this?

you can resolve this by inserting a HDD into the player. Do note that the FTP function does not work without an internal HDD.

the hanging issues is random, it can happen anytime while playing any movies, or pressing the remote control while playing any movies, it also restart itself while movies playing many times in a day. The hanging/restarting issues is so frequent now after the upgrade.

How do i safe -flashed ?
How do i downgrade to a previous version ?

Hi, I have an HDD installed in it.
There was a bug that was introduced that kept prompting me to format my drive even though it found the drive and played movies from it. Newer versions had an option to disable the continual prompting.

I reflashed the unit with a series of firmwares in sequence as recommended on this site, which fixed the continual prompting to format, but FTP still wont work.

Hey i would have an idea for the upcoming firmware version of the Playon HD,
How about a seen function. If you watch seasons, so the firmware would save which Episodes you saw, and mark them with a green checkmark, so that you would directly see if you saw this episode or not. I really hope the firmware for Playon HD is still developped, and that we will see more great functions and formats integrated in the future.

I report that I get an error message that the HDD cannot be found when I try to enable ftp.

Your advice to me is to insert an HDD! Go be a clown somehwere else.

Will your next piece of advise be not to enable FTP?

Come on man, I'm sure you can do better than that..
