I read the threads about the ACR-VE91200 which are closed now.

I have just today bought the exact same model in South Africa, and low and behold it does the same shyte. Just randomly shuts down. I checked all cables etc as well as just tried with the HDMI cable only (no network) and still does the same.... To make matters worse it has shut itself down in the middle of trying to upgrade to the latest firmware

I'm sorry to hear about your initial experience.

This sounds like a definite 'DOA = Dead on arrival' case and you should take your unit back to your re-seller for a switch. If you are not able to update the firmware to rule out software issue then this is due to the hardware.
