Hi there. Currently i have the r4824 firmware installed. 2 questions:

Can i upgrade directly to the r7317 or should i upgrade first to another one and only then to this new? And, with this new firmware is it possible to see subtitles in 3D side-by-side movies?

You can direct (safe method) upgrade to this fw.

About the sbs 3d subs you need a 3d subtitle program

Thanks for the reply kraakie. I have those programs already in my laptop. So the question must be the firmware that i have in my player, since after changing the subtitles to 3D, they play allright in my laptop but not in the player.

After i do these tests (upgrading the firmware and changing a subtitle to 3D and playing it in my player) i'll inform here the results.

at first i just wanted to say that the ACRyan Firmware for PlayonHD is just awesome, there are not much good Mediaplayer firmwares out there like this one.
Ok, there are still some bugs, the Mediaplayer crushing sometimes, or rebooting, the menu sometimes a bit slow, but otherwise this is a just awesome firmware.
I just wanted to ask when the next version of PlayonHD firmware will be released, and which changes this firmware will include. Maybe some new file formats that are played, or maybe some improvements in speed and usability?

Can anyone tell if the support of wireless dongles has been changed in this release? The realtek chipsets supported in the previous firmware (5440) are getting out-dated.

For me, being content with the 5440 release, it could be a reason to upgrade.


BTW? Is there a way to view the *.img file (7317) in Windows? Which program do I need toe open/view?

1. I don't think so. The official AC Ryan wireless dongles are still the same and are still supported in the firmware. The chipsets of the wireless dongles may be out-dated, but the dongles are still in use and still sold.

after i upgrade to this firmware, my ac ryan often get "hanged" or restart while watching movie. I don't have this problem with the previous version of firmware.

Anyone has this problem as well ?

If you have issues with 'hanging' during movies please make sure you have 'safe-flashed' the firmware. If your problem still continues? Please contact support with mediainfo details of the files you are having issues with or further details with what is happening.

i also using safe-flashed to install, never facing hang before until now .... mostly RMVB files
