You might need to give the player some time to 'lóad' the database. After a boot it can take a few minutes to populate the db. If you go directly into music it will show no data until it's loaded. Otherwise i would also recommend to scan the hdd under windows, delete the .theater folder once again and also rescan it once again. I had this here before and rescanning fixed it. If you don't see anything under special points like artists or genres only please try to retag your albums. Might be that your albums are missing tags? Free software for tagging can be mp3-tag for example. I'd always use iso format to tag. Let us know if this helps and you get it working. p.s. on latest firmware i suppose? br,

br,
latest firmware is being used database was loaded, during loading it displays 'database not ready' i did the scan under windows and deleted the .theater folder, mp3 collection is fully tagged with easytag. after some testing it seems that the manual rescan isn't populating the tags, but the tags do show up when doing a startup scan. there must be a difference between the two scans, this is not very handy because a startup scan will run for about 20 minutes... the one thing that keeps me form using my collection at the moment is the missing genre-artist-album sort order. it will be a good idea for a music sort option in the next firmware, when using large collections with full albums it is not possible to locate your favourite albums.

Are thos ALL mp3 files? Usually a clean startup scan works better. The resume scan doesn't seem to complete the scan always. cheers,

Re: no data in music library
leave it scanning overnight! it takes ages! by the morning it will be done! had this issue myself and i have 130GB worth! the scanning logo may not show folders etc at points but it is updating the db file and think it continues to scan! see if this works anyway! I personally couldn't get this firmware to work. Good luck here's the thread viewtopic.php?f=166&t=14562

Re: no data in music library
Is there anyone here who has had positive ecperiences with the HD2 at all? I'm losing confidence. Is it becasue I still need to lear to operate the thing or is it a total waste of money and time.
After many struggles, crashes, connection issues boot problems etc the thing is now loaded with app 400 gig of Pictures and music and a few movies, Not even 25% of it's storage capacity.
It simply fails to build a DB. It takes forever and then in crashes.
Any help is welcome

Re: no data in music library
If you are having those kind of troubles with your library you should maybe look into the shortcuts option. You can add shortcut for your movies/music/fotos folders and then access them directly from the main menu as well. This will also be quicker.

Re: no data in music library
Maybe it is just a matter of me being impatient. Yesterday it fanally fully loaded the database after scanning the storage for hours. I thnk I should disable scanning now.
Still the UI is responding slow to the RC, but I can see some light in using this toy.

Re: no data in music library
Depending how big the db is - this will take up resources of course. That's why you might encounter slowness at times. If you have scanned it fully i would also recommend you to turn off the scanning since the database will still be there.
cheers,
