Help!!

Last night the veolo found my external harrdrive but today it can't find it anymore. When I startup the veolo, i see the light of the harrdrive flikkering, but then i get an announcement that i can remove the sd card safely.

I tried both usb portals but nothing. Whats happening. I only have the veolo ofr 2 months, but is it already broke.

By the way its not te external drive, on my laptop the external harddrive does work. and i also have the newest firmware.

Please try a USB thumb drive/pen drive to test and make sure that it is formatted. This can help to isolate the problem, if it can be detected then you can try to scan the external/portable drive using your PC, fixing the file system might help. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I've connected an usb pen drive, and tried this one. the veolo can read that one. I've checked my samsung external harddrive (1TB) on my laptop, and i can acces everything on the external hdd. i've also scanned the external harddrive for virusses. but it''s clean.

When i connect the usb pen drive, i can play the music whats on it without any problems. but when i connect the external hdd, i get the announcement that the system is disconnecting the sd card and a few minutes later it says that the sd card can be removed safely. Very strange.

I've tried to reset the system, but even that doesn't work. I still have the latest firmware, and my passwords en downloaded apps are still on the veolo.

What kind of problem is this. I paid big money for this thing, and to be not proper functioning after 1,5 months is very annoying.

Unfortunately i don't have the box anymore, but i think that won't mather for the warranty.

From your information the player and the external drive are working, in two different setup though. The message that you saw means that the drive cannot be mounted by the player, very strange its behaving that way. Did you ever mount your portable drive before and made it as the default storage?Please try to check again, after you connected the portable drive leave it connected then do reboot the system.

The possibility to change the USB cable of the portable drive will also give a big help to isolate further your issue. Hope you can try it too.

I've connected the drive with another cable, but that doesn't work either. So i've tried another drive, and that ones does work!!! Very strange.

I still see the same announcements about the sd card, But my second harddrive does work.

I scanned the first one for virusses but it's clean.

I rebooted the system several times with the harddrive connected. but nothing.

i've tried set the veolo back to the factory standards, but that doesn't work either. it doesn't go back to the factory standards.

It''s like a ghost is playing with it.

I hope you find an answer to this problem because if everytime i have to buy a new harddrive i will go broke

have you tried connecting a USB Hub (preferably active) between the Player and the HDD? This usually does the trick if you're having trouble getting your external storage to be recognized.

I had this problem earlier but solved after doing a CHKDSK on the disk drive(refer below):

1. Connect ur external drive to your PC
2. Go to Command Prompt
3. Go to your external disk drive (e.g., Type F: if F is ur external drive letter)
4. Type CHKDSK /F
5. Wait to complete check disk command to fully execute
6. Disconnect HDD and connect to ur VEOLO

Not sure this will solve ur issue, but this will fix logical system errors on the external disk drive.

Hi, thnx for all the information.
I called AC Ryan in Rotterdam, and they gave me the advise to install the latest firmware manually. so I've copied the firmware to an usb stick, disconnected the veolo, inserted the usb stick, and connect the veolo. then pushed the on/of button for 25 sec and the firmware installed. then i've reseted the internal memory and set everything backh to factory settings.

I've also checked the external harddrive and there was nothing wrong.

After all this i've connected the external harddrive and everything is working perfectly!!!

I'm very happy now and maybe i will buy a second one for the bedroom, so I can be lazy and watch movies from my bed
