Thanks for replying, but this can't be an issue with the folder being created s I also delete it? Also I don't have the Autoscan on at all as it slows the machine down and certainly at start up makes it seem like the whole system has crashed (suggestion: display on screen message(s) of what its doing at all times!)

Secondly, I shouldn't have to use the Clear History EVERY time I want to copy files to my Media Player. If that's a temp file perhaps get the system to delete it and create a fresh one every time if it requires it.

How do we provide you with a crash/reboot report?

Also you mention structure of Folders. What do you wish to use to keep in line with yours? Which begs the question why should we? Also I don't have anything else on my media player other than video files.

Is there an issue with the number of files in one folder? unstable/old USB drivers perhaps?

I think you need to tell us how you set-up your machine and the number of files you have and their respective sizes.

Seems like we are all, including you, giving feedback to solve your own issues!

Come on AC Ryan, this is getting embarrassing.

Cheers

As far as I understand from the describtion of your issue is not the same as we have reported regarding earlier that the 'structrure and file' based reboot in the corrupted database, but we are also not able to reproduce your reported steps. = We are talking about 2x different things here.

I've tried your steps and this does not happen - reboot. If there is anyone else who can simply try this and let us know if this is reproduceable by simply removing the .Theater folder from a USB-stick or drive, let us know here or send a email to bugtracker@acryan.com

We use a debug card directly to the board of the player and then serial cable to our systems to generate a crashreport. Most people will not be able to do this, so we ask for the steps to re-produce a issue so we can catch the issue in black and white. You can do this in our firmware threads by posting or by using our bugtracker email mentioned in every firmware post.

If your issue is not reproduced I would recommend you to send a email to our support and we can troubleshoot these issues with you and perhaps find a source of your issue. For this use the appropriate email from www.acryan.com/support

with regards to the reboot problem.

My database runs fine on 5540 so can't see how its this causing it?

I only have music on mine (just over 100GB worth)
I have two main folders within music 1) Artist Albums 2) Compilation Albums. In each of these i either have the direct album name (including artist for artist albums or a group folder i.e. Eminem Albums/ Eminem - The Slim Shady LP etc. I had heard somewhere on here you cannot have "&" in file names/folders etc but I'm sure i do! all my Mp3 are tagged via mp3tag using the ISO**** tags.

I find when i turn mine on under 5540 it scans the HDD and i see things popping up that it's scanned before almost like its scanning for the sake of it looking for new content and when it finds something new it adds it? Is this how it works? if so i can see how the database become corrupt overtime? if corruptions the problem?

Should it not just know that something has been added and then scan it? I know i have said all this a few times on here but not sure i have ever had it explained!

So to reproduce add a about a 100GB in the folder layout as described, encode all mp3s as above and scan HDD with 5540 then install one of the two previos releases and see whjat happen, think it only a problem once you turn scanning on in the menus (the version before this one did it striaght away i think?

Just had a thought, is it to do with the way myself and others file their video files and music into folders?

For example, it goes something like this

HDD\movies\

then I have multiple folders after that for TV Shows, Children's TV, Movies, Documentaries.

Then after that I have sub-folders for all my TV shows...maybe some 100 shows maybe? e.g. Family Guy Season 01, House Season 01,

Then in my Movies folder I have sub folders with Trilogy's in them, Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Star Wars etc etc. Also in the same folder ie Movies I also have a lot of movies maybe again 100 plus?

If I was to put music on my machine I'd do the same thing.

Does that compare to what your set-up and files are like on your test systems?

HI Mik

In my internal HDD of POHD2 their is File named -FOUND.001 which is unable Delete.
Need format Hdd ?

Also Tell me isit necessary to format hdd for upgrade Firmware ?

Hey,

This is a systemcreated 'dump' file.
Run the 'Setup:System:Scan HDD for errors' and then try to delete the file. If not possible connect your HD2 to your laptop/PC and manually delete the file. This file does no harm to your Playon!HD2 or hdd.

Q: Have you ever formatted the internal hard drive in the Playon!HD2? If you have, then you don't need to format your hard drive.

Br,
HI Mic

I tried everything which u have said . Finally I formatted Hdd .Thanks for reply

could you please tell us the struction you use to reproduce the reboot loop and the file system you use which is more stable? Do "&" effect the stability within file names, folders and tags? if so can this be sorted as i don't want to go through 100gb of music to remove all of them!

Is it likley you will have the reboot loop problem fixed in the next firmware or so?

I dont know of its posible. When you go back to the home menu You see New edit movie and music files. It looks like when you to that menu that the ac Ryan first take a quik look at the files. And then you can do somting els. Its slows down the machine. And the menu. I have the funtion HDD scan off. But still do it.

Have more people see this happen ?
Best regards.

Should this update solve the problem with the 0 kb files and problems with Samba and copying files thru wifi?

Or what does "update of NTFS driver" exactly should update and solve??

Does this beta solve the image corruption, when browsing folders with images?

You know the one where you scroll down and the lines/corruption appear at the top of the screen, and further images dont load correctly?
