 mediafly going?
Hi I use mediafly on the MIni1 to watch and listen to a lot of useful stuff, like for example TF1 French news, GeekBeat TV, etc. According to the mediafly website, "effective March 31 2012, Mediafly will be shutting down Mediafly OnAir and OnAir related Apps". http://onair.mediafly.com/WelcomeDoes anyone on here know what that will mean to the service on the Mini1? If it goes, how can it be replaced, etc? I thought this was a very useful addition to the Mini at GUI 2.0 update and also the only way I found to manually add feeds (although not all worked!). Has anyone got any info about this? Cheers Hobo

Hi hobo,
we have noticed this previously and naturally informed the responsible persons. There is nothing we can do about this at the moment while we wait for an answer. As soon as we have news regarding this we will of course inform you guys.
best regards & thanks for the feedback!

Hi Arne
Thank you for your reply. Have you heard anything more about Mediafly or a potential replacement for it?
Thanks in advance.
Hobo

 Re: mediafly going?
Is there any way to get XMBC working on the mini? That would be an ideal replacement for the content that is going to be lost in mediafly's absence? If XMBC is too resource heavy for the realtek chip, are there any other app equivalents that are being investigated? Alternatively, can acryan (or users) add feeds to the existing video streams section?
Thanks.

Thanks. Hi, XBMC is not possible and also the adding of own feeds is not possible in the standard firmware package. You might want to take a look here for an alternative: viewforum.php?f=98br,

 Re: mediafly going?
Returning to the original subject, which was mediafly: this has now gone. Is there any news about what is lined up to replace it? Thanks.

 Re: mediafly going?
Sad to say that we do not have any update regarding this matter, we cannot confirm if there is going to be a replacement for it as this is not entirely the device fault. Sorry for any inconvenience. We will follow up with our developer.

 Re: mediafly going?
Thanks for the update, Roger, even if it is not good news.
Perhaps there can be a firmware update that officially gives users the option to add feeds (rather than opting for unofficial releases that allow this funcionality).
Part of the product's success is the content that can be accessed by it, which also serves to differentiate it from competitiors. Getting mediafly on the mini kept it up to speed with rivals - now it is falling behind.
This, combined with the lack of progress on the you tube log in issue, makes it a worrying state of affairs.

 Re: mediafly going?
Maybe we can get some of the media services that are on the mini 2 onto the mini 1, such as muzee and youtube xl (subject to technical constraints).
Otherwise, what about a cheap upgrade offer from 1 to 2?
