How many movies can the POHD mini 2 handle?
I appreciate this is going to be somewhat variable, according to file types etc, but I'm curious to know how many files people have managed to get the player to deal with.
The reason I ask, I have 2 external 2tb drives attached, which the player scans and plays movies from each quite happily when they are plugged in by themselves, but when I plug them both in at the same time, it shows no movies in the movie list. Although I can browse both in the file manager and play movies just fine that way, I would prefer to be able to browse one combined list.
A reply to a previous post of mine suggested that the number of movies might be the problem. I have about 1200 mkv/m4v/avi files on one drive, and another 250 on the other.
How many movies do you have on your player?

I'm not sure this is a quantity problem On each drive you will have a .Theater directory with a SQL Lite database in containing the results of the scan. Have you tried deleting this off both disks, plugging both in at the same time and then doing a scan? I presume both disks have their own external power

Re: How many movies can the POHD mini 2 handle?
As soon as I read your suggestion, I thought 'that's it, of course, why didn't I think of that?' - but it didn't work, unfortunately. Same Result. The movie list shows empty, although I can navigate them both, and play movies in the file manager. Once I eject one of the drives using the remote, or physically disconnect one, then the movies on the other drive become visible in the list. Mysterious.
Yes, both drives are powered, by the way...

I'll see if I can find anything out My scan database has thousands of pictures and mp3 files in it as well as movies

Hi There seems to be a limitation to the scan function of one hard disk Sorry about that

Not sure I understand. Do you mean the POHD can only handle one drive? What's the purpose of the other USB port?

Re: How many movies can the POHD mini 2 handle?
The Playon can handle two USB drives and even more if you use a hub, as you can see when you use the File manager to play your content. I am afraid that the scan function does not span multiple drives and that the .Theater folders on each drive cause a conflict.

Thanks for the reply, Duivels.
I'll add this to the already long list of the POHD's faults...

Re: How many movies can the POHD mini 2 handle?
You are welcome. I only have a short list of faults, probably because I do not expect my Mini to perform as a quad core PC.
