Post Some questions for potential new buyer
Hi
I'm on the market for a media player. At present I use a 1TB iOmega Home Media Network drive connected via my router to my bluray player (Sony BDP-S570). I dont stream from my PC, but transfer all video files over to the NAS and then play through the BD player.
As the bluray player only supports MKV files through the USB or on disc, I am having to convert many files over to m2ts format. Also any file over 12Gb tends to get very juttery in places. I am keen to stop all this happening!!

My hope is that I can buy a media player that will do the following:
* play large MKV files (some of mine are 25GB) without any stutter or the need to convert them
* play BD iso files
* play 3dSBS MKV files
* play 3d Bluray ISO files (not sure if the HD2 does this???)
* play FLAC audio as well as mp3 etc

Also I have seen the that the HD2 supports YAMJ - is this accessible from the TV or only from the PC? I would like to have a nice look to the player rather then a standard file manager if possible.

Any help gratefully recieved.
PS If the HD2 doesn't do all of the above, are there any players out here that do? I'm not interested in streaming from PC so I would want one with a large hard drive (1.5TB upwards).

Look here for the specs of the HD2.

* play large MKV files (some of mine are 25GB) without any stutter or the need to convert them from internal hard disk or wired network
* play BD iso files with support for BD Light menus only
* play 3dSBS MKV files if 3d SBS is supported by your TV
* play 3d Bluray ISO files (not sure if the HD2 does this???) full 3D is not supported by the hardware of the Playon!HD2
* play FLAC audio as well as mp3 etc

Post Re: Some questions for potential new buyer
Hello, this is my first post or rather question.

Duivels
"with support for BD Light menus only"

Could you please elaborate on this statement please, I am guessing that it means just the title and tracks only, no BD live, or any advanced features ?

Thanks !

Your guess is correct.
