 Audio output question
Hi at AC Ryan forums
Im considering buying the mini2, but have a question regarding the audio output options.
I have a 2.1 speaker system (edifier S530) where the connection is a minijack. I don't see a minijack output on the playon mini2 - so how could i connect it to my speakers ? Would i need som kind of converter ?
Another thing, I will connect it to my TV via the hdmi output, but dont need the audio to goto the TV, can this be disablet in the playon settings?
Thanks in advance ! Your products looks great.

 Re: Audio output question
The Playon is not an amplifier and speakers or headphones cannot be connected directly to the Playon. You will need an amplifier or TV. If you use component output to your TV no sound is transferred. If you use HDMI output, you cannot suppress audio to the TV.
Edit: I see your Edifier has optical input and the Playon has optical output, so you may use this to connect the devices without minijack.

 Re: Audio output question
Ok thank you for the answer. The edifier is an active sound system so it has a build in amplifier. So composite cable should work. Now another question: My media files (videos and music) are on my stationary pc. It's win7 os, media folders are shared on my network. Will I be able to set the mini2, to scan the mediafolders ? In the review over at Techgage, he mentions that the mini2 is unable to find windows network drives? source: http://techgage.com/article/ac_ryan_pla ... 2_review/2I love the "recently added" videos feature on the gui, so it would be a shame if this didn't work via a windows network-drive.

 Re: Audio output question
I've read through the forums now and found that what I'm looking for is not yet possible with the Mini2. So, will patiently wait for a Mini3 to be released and see if that version will be perfect Untill then !

 Re: Audio output question
It is possible, but you have to mount your network drives. Look here
