Insert your FAT32 stick into a Windows PC or use Windows Explorer to explore the FAT32 USB stick over your network and look again after selecting that hidden files/folders are displayed.. The USB stick with the Linux swap partition will not contain a .Theater folder. Attachment:

What is the value of your minFree parameter in the mountSwap script? The default 20480 of the script is too high for the Mini, which has a memory that is half the size of the Playon models with an internal hard disk and results in system crashes. 10240 works better for me and some people have even decreased the value to 4096.

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
I've now been using the new firmware for about a week since my last post, and having debugged YAMJ, have also been playing with the mountSwap script - I came to the same conclusions as Duivels, and I've now set minfree to 5120, which has stopped the mini using the swap partition unless it is absolutely necessary, and speeded up the mini considerably. As I only usually need to turn samba on to transfer files to/from the mini occasionally, I've added the path to the samba start/stop script to the profile: -
- Use Vi to edit /etc/profile - After the second pathmunge command add the following three lines:-
#add samba script directory to the path PATH=$PATH:/sbin/package/script export PATH
Then when logged in as root you can use the command samba followed by either start or stop as needed, without having to use the GUI to turn it on / off to transfer a few files
It's still not as quick as I would like, and I have noticed the mini getting warmer than previous, which leads me to suspect the high processor utilisation problem is still there
Andy

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
Like snowmiss i have a mini1, which doesn't have a build-in hdd. And my NAS doesn't allow the mini1 to write something on it. So there is no .theater map to delete. And in my case, autoscanning is also off and history is cleared. But still reboots from time to time but not all the time. shortcuts sometimes worked without reboots. I would say 8 out of 10 times the player reboots. Going via 'Bestandbeheer' > Netwerk > My_shortcuts > NAS > Media > folder everything works better, i would say 3out of 10 reboots. but still REBOOTS.. I'm not using any mem-sticks for swap or what so ever. Player is standing near my TV. (open space)

I have a Mini 1 myself (see my signature), so I know about the absence of an internal hard drive. However, I just try to help by pointing to a possible solution, because your problem might have been caused by an attached USB memory device in addition to your NAS.
Normally I am streaming media from my server (which is comparable to streaming from a NAS) and do not experience undesired reboots with firmware 7317.
Please download the 7317 firmware again (a new revision was posted on 7 February in the afternoon) and reinstall the firmware using a FAT32 formatted USB stick. It is a good idea to use a different USB stick, because some people report problems with USB sticks that are working correctly with Windows but fail for a firmware update.

Likle I said, I already installed (twice) the lastest (7317 firmware). Downloaded on 12 February. Both installation says "succesful". I read on a Dutch forum that you must format the USB stick FAT32 but NOT using the "Quickformat" option, but use the normal (Slow) format option. This I haven't tried yet. I will try this when I'm home. About the .Theater folder, should, or shouldn't I have this on the USB stick, I'm not sure if this might cause the problem, or resolves the problem? Is there any logging on the device to analyse the problem, and if this is the case, where?

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
Can't find the answer so I dare to ask the question Just have this MiniHD (1) and installed this firmware. Works like a charm but in the old firmware I saw RSS feeds and I do not see it anymore. Is there a simple way to get RSS feeds to work so I can see the feeds of some sites? Cheers

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
@DBouman: You will get the .Theater folder automatically on your USB stick, once the firmware installation has been completed. If you do not use the scan (indexing)option from the settings menu, the .Theater folder does no harm. It will contain an empty data base. If you remove your USB stick after installation, the .Theater folder cannot do any harm at all. No .Theater folder is written to network drives, because network drives cannot normally be indexed by the Playon.
I always used fast formatted USB sticks for my firmware installations (all since 3582 and often going back and forth for testing). However, the Playon is quite sensitive to the quality of the USB stick, so slow formatting may help. A different USB stick may also help. Further: unzip the ZIP file with the firmware to the hard disk of your PC and copy the install.img file from the hard disk to the USB stick. Straight unzipping from your PC's hard disk to a USB stick is less reliable.
@Snowmiss: did you also try the solution that was suggested in the topic you linked to?

Quote: @Snowmiss: did you also try the solution that was suggested in the topic you linked to? Tried it and got a 'Login Fail' For now I am going back to firmware 3582 and I'll do an upgrade to 5440, Let's see if everything is oké then. Or maybe the 4585........ I don't know what to do anymore, it seems my mini1 doesn't want the 3582 anymore. Or maybe I should reformat the USB-stick again?
