with the old firmware i had never any problems with usb-connections.
is there any trick? You may want to do a check disk to the affected USB drive and make sure there are no errors. You can also try using another USB cable.

The new proper firmware looked like what I needed so I came back. I have only one problem with it. I only use it as a streamer of video over a gigabit lan from a q-nap server. Playback works like it should, but for some reason logging onto the nas sometimes takes forever. I have tried both discovering it over samba and directly entering the ip-address.
The funny thing is that if I don't bother waiting, and just reboot the device the suddenly shortcuts work really fast and the problem is gone.
Anybody have a clue what is going on?
ps. like others have said here: It is great that the mini is still being supported. Thanks. Network is too much unpredictable, I also experience the same sometimes. The only thing i need to do is to go to the player network setup and try make another connection, just to refresh the IP.

Moved to the new FW last night - no problems so far and the box does seem noticeably quicker and more responsive. As others have said, thanks for continuing to support and improve the original Mini.

By the hell, why don't you change the firmware number version when you make a minor change ? If I want to install the new firmware version of the v7.4.6.r7317 I'm forced to use the Safe-mode flash procedure because the system does not recognize a new version on the USB stick and then I'll have to retype all NFS path .... Please, take my request into consideration ...

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
This was simply decided to be done like this as we were able to fix this without touching anything else and wanted to release this quick.
But I agree that this is perhaps not the best way to do it, but I'm glad we got rid of this issue for this release.

USB upgrade does now work again with the revised .r7317 firmware, as I have reported earlier. I also would be very surprised to find that there is any difference between safe flash and usb upgrade procedure in having to setup the device again or not. Btw, I'm a bit disappointed to find that the opening post has still not been corrected and that Duivels couldn't find it in himself to apologize to kolslorr for his totally unnecessary comment.

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
@Beverwijker: What is the matter with this instruction? Quote: Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32. If you follow it to the letter, you get the ZIP, install.img and the Readme_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317.pdf file in the root of your USB stick. The ZIp and PDF files do not affect the firmware installation in any way.
