Hey there,
I've encountered something that forces me to roll back.
I also found a similar reply from another user in this thread, but since there was no response to him, i thought i would mention it again.
The unit isn't shutting down when using the remote or the power button on the device. First time i've stumbled upon this, very weird.

I've reported my same finding over at the HD2 thread here:
http://www.acryan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=125691#p125691

Glad others found this error
Definately a bug in the new firmware

Hopefully a fixed one will come soon

Hello, and thanks for feedback!

We have so far not been able to reproduce this with USB-sticks or USB-docking stations plugged in. This is currently not that easy to reproduce. Exactly what branded external hard drives do you (and other people with similar issue) have? Anything else that can help us reproduce this?

Thanks

Still the jukebox does not work for me, the player reboots shortly after "refreshing". Also why does it not work with NFS ?
To connect to a NFS Server you add a server and not a client, please fix that text.

There are some issues with YAMJ at this moment and we will try to sort them as mentioned in other threads. We have been testing and running the jukebox with this firmware version without reboots though. A new YAMJ compilation is needed for some other issues, more information regarding this later.

YAMJ and NFS mounting will unfortunately not be possible, this has been requested and answered countless times on our forums. This support will not be added due to the difficulty of implementing this feature to our current SDK.

A big thanks to Mikael for replying to so many questions. :)

I still think it would be a good idea to have a running thread listing outstanding versus fixed issues. It might save a lot of trawling through forums and repeat questions. Just a thought :D

I have 2 USB HDD's connected directly to the two usb ports at the back of the Mini2, one is a Seagate® Expansion™ External 2TB USB 2.0 desktop HDD, the other one is a Seagate FreeAgent Go 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable HDD.

The way I reproduce this on my Mini2 is:

1) Install r7317 build using safe-mode with no HDD connected (only the usb stick with the install.img is connected),
2) Plug both HDD's to a Win7 pc to get the pop-up prompt to check/scan disk for error and let Windows scan through (and reported no error every time  ).
3) Delete the .theater folder on both HDD's
4) Turn off the Mini2 before connecting both HDD's to it.
5) Turn on the Mini2 and browser a bit around various movies in thumbnail view.
6) Now try to turn the Mini2 off using the remote - it will just reboot and not shutting off.
At this point I had to unplug the power cable.
7) Remove both HDD and connect it to my Win7 pc again to rerun check disk, but this time do not delete the .theater folder.
8) Reconnect both HDD's to the Mini2 again and turn it on, and now I could shutdown using the remote.

I am using a Western Digital Essential 1 TB as HDD, connected to the bottom USB port. :)

Hello,

You seem to have the copy protection still left in this file.

If you want to play this file with our product you would have to remove it. We can't fix this on our side.

Br,

It is working in older versions (Firmware_PV73800_v9.5.5.r2073) no problems, so something must be wrong like Arne says, if you read the hole tread..

Hello,

We (support) did not have the knowledge back then. We did report this, but later got a reply from our developers that we are not able to support this for legal reasons. To be very frank, this was a mistake that we cannot support knowingly.

You would have to go back to that version, or not install our future firmware to have that particular file working, or remove the copy protection from your ripped files.

Br,

Update - 07-02-2012: We have replaced this firmware v9.5.5.r7317 with a new revision that fixes the Thumbnail view (distorted image) issue, so you can view your folders with 'Thumbnail view'. If you with your remote control go to 'Setup > Misc > Version info' and check the 'Compiled at' date. If it does not say: Feb 07 - 2012 - you will not have the updated version. Simply re-download and flash this firmware again to have this fixed.

Thanks to our development team for this quick fix!

Got this one installed and thumbnail browsing is now working properly. Thanks a lot!

However, after I have installed this "Feb07-2012" build, my Mini2 now always reboot when I try to power off either using the remote or clicking the power button on the Mini2. No matter if the .Theater folder is deleted or not

Now I have to either unplug the power cable or just remove the USB HDD's while the Mini2 is still power on before I can shutdown with the remote. Disappointed...

UPDATE! I think I have found what caused the "reboot when shutting down" issue. My guess is the "favlink_USB" file in the root of each HDD (the one containing the shortcuts)..If this file was created using earlier firmware releases, then my Mini2 will reboot every time I tried to shutdown. If I delete this one as well as the .Theater folder and recreated the shortcuts again using the new firmware, then it can shutdown ok.

UPDATE 2! I thought I could work around the reboot issue, but guess what, my Mini2 now reboot again everytime I tried to shut it down! I had played/changed a lot of the setting parameters (video solution, audio, subs on/off, customized fonts in the Resource folder, etc...) and now it still reboot after I have deleted both the .Theater folder and the favlink_USB file.

Quite disappointed...
