I just reverted to the previous firmware, because my device crashes every time when I press the Setup button on the remote control.

Thats a mistake. You cannot rename it now in the menu itself - sorry!

It seems there's no way to rename shortcuts in the menu. You can edit the FavLink_USB file manually on your PC by changing what's after the <DspName> tag. Yeah, very user friendly.

No real fixes and improvements in general or for the jukebox. It seems even worse with yamj implementation, adding some reboots(?!) and errors.

We have tested the jukebox several times here without reboot. Can you specify a little bit what happens and where?
Shortcut see above answer.

Tested and fallback to old mod f/w; somehow the PQ and AQ are not as good as compare to the old SDK firmware; perhaps the new SDK is too heavy for the old 107x processor to handle.
btw, the response time is still slow. Hopefully AC will continue to enhance the f/w using old SDK instead.

The old firmware will not be touched again as development on that SDK has stopped long time ago. So don't keep your hopes up high. Additionally some bugs in that SDK are not fixable at all.

best regards,

So the old SDK with the Samba issues (which causes the player to lock up) won't be worked upon any longer. A fix might come in the new SDK release at some point in the future (high priority...) but this release is so slow on the original boxes to be unworkable. Hm... I think this means those of us that thought we were buying a network media player were conned and we will never see the units operating as was intended. Or am I missing something? The unit I bought specifically becasue of its networking capability has been gathering dust now for two years excactly. Do you think there is there any chance ACR wil upgrade the units free of charge?

I have a mini1 and using Yamj 2.5.1 r2754. Jukebox was rebooting before, as you know on acryan fw r5440 untill Omertron fixed months ago.

In r7317, when updating jukebox, 1 HDD froze the process and return to home menu, and with another HDD it reboots the unit. Then, without updating I can launch the jukebox but notice the year filter empty. I didn't try to remove all the library, change Yamj version and scan again though.
Anyway, with hundreds files to scan on the box it's almost impossible to find the culprit.

Don't you think that enabling a log file during the update would be usefull ? Because right now, we have to be magician to find the errors. Will you improve the bad parsing of special and accented characters one day? As it is, it's not conform to Yamj.

No the old sdk 1,2 and 3 have no samba issues

ONly this new sdk 4.x has samba issues.

But the samba issues are only on the hd1 and mini 1 not on the dvr-hd and hd2 series.

Ships, what now ??? back to my older firmware 7.3.4 r4824
That so far the only firmware what works with the WiFi dongle.

Please try to re-install the firmware one more time. Also do note that WIFI has changed during SDK switch. You are not able to use static ip or hidden SSID's anymore.

Still very sluggish to respond, quite often get no response to the remote then it catches up and moves 2 or 3 times at once. This is just on the normal menu navigation and setup.

The YAMJ implementation - lots of menu filters missing that has been noted elsewhere, but still way to slow at naviagating the cursor around the screen it's a second or so before it moves, and more when you get to the very right edge and it has to scroll.

To speed up the unit you can try to disable the scanning option in SETUP -> SYSTEM -> Autoscan Storage + Clear History (use both options).
We will try to get a new AC Ryan YAMJ version up on our homepage soon. The navigation itself will not improve. It's just how the software + hardware work together.

Hi Mikael, wasn't in the changelog and it's not working with this fw also.
Are developers still working on how to connect the PV73100 to a WLAN with hidden SSID using "infrastructure"? And thus manualy configure WLAN(and/or LAN) settings?
thanks!

Pascal

This issue has been raised previously but apparently this will not be possible to implement in the SDK - so No, hidden SSID's and Static IP's will only work on previous SDK3 firmwares.

I cant delete some maps trough samba.
I'll have to wait for the next update / fix ....

Have you tried the new scanning option under SETUP -> SYSTEM -> Scan HDD ? There might be some issues with your drives. If you connect over SAMBA please check if the folders are eventually marked as 'read only'. If so remove the read only flag.

FLAC + CUE has issues not only since this firmware. This has been confirmed already and reported but there is no fix at this point.

See post above. We have also noticed this. A new YAMJ will be packed soon with our installer.
Couldn't reproduce rebooting or freezing though. I generated several jukeboxes with 2.5.1 / 2.6 and had no issues except the filters.

best regards,

Even if I look at the USB stick in file manager the file is not shown.
If I put another file next to it (like a mp3), that file is shown in the filemanager.
Update: when I put the 5440 img on the USB stick, I can update from 5440 to 5440!
Maybe the file is too large?

Try another USB-stick
Or be sure to format your USB-stick FAT32 not with the standard windows format utility
but with a free of charge. Panasonic sd-formatter:

Choose for option "FULL (Erase ON)”
And try again

That's what I suggested long time ago.

Anyhow, I bought a media player which is not delivering what was promised.
I just need the video playback. Wanted to have the cover, script etc. things, to repeat,
as promised, but Yamj implementation is a big joke.
Never ever a AC Ryan product again.

I'm moving to Apple TV 2 with XBMC
