Hello there Simon, would like to verify the issue you have for this firmware as far as i know and based on the result of the test, subtitles is working on this firmware version.

For example an MKV file which have internal and external (.srt) will automatically play by default the external subs. You can also select internal subs using the subs button. If the movie does have internal subs only then it will play it automatically too, using the first internal subs in the list.

For the color of the subtitle, it was selectable and appearing just fine with me, unless it is a PGS (image type). Again for this version of the firmware all subtitle is recognized for almost every language. Last one more thing, we acknowledge the bug in BD file. If you enalbe or used subtitle, you cannot turn it off or disable it from appearing.

So, will these bugs be ignored for another 12 months or is there any timeframe?

Can you please tell me why a final firmware with those bugs is released? It will not improve the the brand name for sure. Well I hope the next (beta) firmware will be better.

There is absolutely no difference between AC Ryan beta and official firmware releases, but official just sounds better I suppose. I have never seen so many negative posts on a new FW in such a short time before as with this one. No wonder, the most important bugs (SAMBA instability, NTFS problems etc.) have not been addressed. Not even an update on the status of these bugs. Yes they have been reported, but are the developers trying to fix it. Did Realtek respond to this yet? The problems are not really new you know!

I switch on the unit - go to my favorites and choose one (windows 7 PC)
I see Login Successfull and the the unit freezes !!!

So I have to disconnect the power cord.

I choose the video file I want to see - the display shows network test (i see it in german)
after about 1 min. it shows 30kbit/s for about 20 sec. and then the box freezes !

I have to disconnect the power !
I have a brilliant working GB Network, everything works ! Only this Unit makes massive trouble !

I have given up asking for Jukebox shortcuts - though sure others would want this

How about the ability to order menu items ourselves...

Or at the very least if i dont have usb connected dont show items in the menu I cant select ie Movies and Music - REMOVE THEM FROM THE MENUI!

I'm going back to 6229 beta... I'm unable to see some WMVs since the final... so going back...

Filters work fine on the Jukebox with this release and also r6629.

You obviously have something wronig in your YAMJ implementation.

Strange... went back to 6229 and still not working... but I'm 100% sure those movies were working before as I saw them via my mini2. I will now try 5440 and post results...
