I see a lot minor bugfixes but the real problem SAMBA and other network issues have not been fixed for I think now more than 2 years. I will not waste my time by installing this version! I am sticking with r4824 which the most stable network performance.

Updated it from r5440 to r7317 with the Safe-Mode method, it started after app. 45 seconds. Set the language and wired network settings and everything looks okay. Background wallpaper is working again. Shortcuts with password is working. After testing for a few hours until now no crashes.
EDIT1:after shutting down the power it restarts directly. Removed the .Theater folder several times and that did not solve the problem.
EDIT2:installed the firmware again with the safe-mode method and now the problem is solved.
EDIT3: problem not solved, still rebooting after shutting down the power, still searching for a solution

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r7317
One thing I noticed right away is that I now have to put movies that have JPEG artwork into separate folders for them to show up the way they used to...with the JPEGs as the thumbnails. Before, I had, for example, Avatar.mkv and Avatar.jpg in a folder called Movies along with dozens of other video files and JPEGs. With Options set to "Thumbnails" and "Movies" each movie showed as its JPEG. Now that works only if the movie and its JPEG are in a separate folder in the Movies folder. Not a problem, just different than it was.
Also, Shortcuts is at the top of the list on the main screen...a nice touch. And my shortcuts are intact! It did lock up when I powered it off using the remote, though. And it rebooted when scrolling through a list of TV shows.

Hi!, r7317 works with wifi dongle (also r5440). I'm back to 4824 because i'm using a hidden SSID, that is where its going wrong with newer releases of the fw. Could that be also why it doesn't work for you? br Pascal FrVoets wrote: When i installed the new firmware on my Playon!HD, then after de reboot, it is not possible to set the langauage. The remote control is responding to my system, but nothing happens.
Ships, what now ??? back to my older firmware 7.3.4 r4824 That so far the only firmware what works with the WiFi dongle.

You can edit the FavLink_USB file manually on your PC by changing what's after the <DspName> tag. Yeah, very user friendly. No real fixes and improvements in general or for the jukebox. It seems even worse with yamj implementation, adding some reboots(?!) and errors.

Tested and fallback to old mod f/w; somehow the PQ and AQ are not as good as compare to the old SDK firmware; perhaps the new SDK is too heavy for the old 107x processor to handle. btw, the response time is still slow. Hopefully AC will continue to enhance the f/w using old SDK instead.

You cannot rename it now in the menu itself - sorry! pfff wrote: guy657 wrote: Works fine with me. Shortcut see above answer. bond wrote: Tested and fallback to old mod f/w; somehow the PQ and AQ are not as good as compare to the old SDK firmware; perhaps the new SDK is too heavy for the old 107x processor to handle. btw, the response time is still slow. Hopefully AC will continue to enhance the f/w using old SDK instead. The old firmware will not be touched again as development on that SDK has stopped long time ago. So don't keep your hopes up high. Additionally some bugs in that SDK are not fixable at all. best regards,
