chaps, I am running Firmware v7.4.3.r5440 - Asian Edition and using YAMJ ver 2 64bit on windows 7. Finally got an index file created that the acryan can see. When I try to register it for the first time (by selecting OK as opposed to cancel at the prompt) it starts to register then reboots the acryan. When i then try to use the jukebox (by selecting cancel as opposed to ok when the register question is asked) the jukebox loads and is completely empty. There are over a hundred titles in the folder and are visible in YAMJ on the computer. So the jukebox does exist.

Never used a device with so many bugs. Done all the firmware upgrades, read the forums as best I can. It really should not require a PHD to watch a movie. Very disappointed with the product.

Please update YAMJ to the latest version from Omertron's Media Player Site. Later versions of YAMJ have fixed reboot errors and also issues with IMDB and TVDB APIs
AC Ryan have yet to release an updated version of the firmware for the version 1 devices which addresses the many Jukebox issues

and its all running ok except it says it cant scan the movies because there is a problem with the plug-in (java?) I seem to have two version of java installed and not sure if that right or not?? I already had 6.0.290 and when I downloaded the latest version as per the instructions I got 7.0.20. I have previously run YAMJ v2 and got the jukebox created, so java did work before.When I moved to YAMJ 2.5.1 as per your advice then it told me Java wasnt present and crashed. So I downloaded Java 7.0.20 and now it doesnt scan the titles. The actual error is "Title is not able to be scanned using the current plug-ins"

This is quite imprtant as its 42 deg C here in australia and I cant go outside..... so I neeeeed movies

Follow up. Even though I have those plug in errors the juke box still loads OK from the index on the player.... major step forward. Only problem now is that when I try to play the movie from the title page it says there is no video!!!!!! But the video is on the local HDD in the correct folder and I can play it from file manager..... HELPPPPP

On 64bit Windows you need both 64bit and 32bit Java installed for YAMJ to work.
Both should be available from http://www.java.com/en/

ok did that no change... I suspect the default file path to the movie folder on my internal hard drive is wrong... maybe I should keep all the movies in the root....

Is the AC Ryan player telling you it can't find the video file? and is it true for all movies?
If so then can you confirm you are using a default installation of YAMJ (index and jukebox file in the same directory you told YAMJ to scan for movies, and can you post the contents of the ACR_Library.xml file please (it's in the YAMJ program directory)

1) Yes the ACR is telling me it cant find the file. Message is "No video found"
2) Yes true for all movies (only four titles in the test folder)
3) Yes Index and Jukebox in same "test" folder as the movies.
4) Yes, but my library files is called My_Library.xml, not ACR_Library. Its contents are

Change this line
<playerpath>file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK/Test/</playerpath>
so it reads
<playerpath>file://../</playerpath>
Then rebuild the jukebox

The playerpath statement tells the AC Ryan box - the player - where to find the video files and it must be a path which is relative to the index file.
