 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r6629
My first thought was what Arno suggested - Variable Bit Rate, which has been known to cause problems in other software.
Try disabling it and see if that fixes it?

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r6629
GregiBoy: I will give that a try
SimonP: Yes, I already tried this and it works. It's the "Framerate (FPS): Same as source setting" that must be changed to a defined number (e.g. 25) to get rid of the variable framerate. After setting this the problem is gone.
BUT since the "same as source" is the default in Handbrake, all my friends produce VFR files that causes problems, even if I would change the setting every time, which I don't want to be honest. Furthermore an EMTEC N200 device, which is also realtek based, plays those files without any problem.
All of you having the same problem, please send it to the bugtracking like mentioned in the first page of this thread.
If anyone wants to see the fast forwarding problem, I could provide a small video (about 10MB) to try.

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r6629
Not sure how much this helps, but I tried playing some of my rips last night, since I don't normally use them with the AC Ryan (I only use them for streaming over the web and to my 'phone and tablet via DLNA) and they worked fine. Possible differences are I rip to .mp4 container not .mkv, and I only rip DVD quality content, not HD. Does anyone who is having problems use thumbnail/preview browsing on the AC Ryan? I only use list view, and I noticed in some of the other threads on this issue that several people sounded like they used preview mode. Anyhoo, here's the mediainfo from one of the HB rips that works for me, hope it helps trace the issue:- Quote: Complete name : E:\Volume 1\Rips\Movies\S-T\Troll Hunter.m4v Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : Base Media / Version 2 Codec ID : mp42 File size : 1.12 GiB Duration : 1h 43mn Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 1 549 Kbps Encoded date : UTC 2012-01-16 23:43:04 Tagged date : UTC 2012-01-17 00:10:26 Writing application : HandBrake 0.9.5 2011010300

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r6629
Hi, I use the mini2 in a simple way: connected directly to several HDs. I thought not to share that problem but finally I said to give a try:
1. Player model: ACR-PV73800 2. Firmware version:9.5.5.r6629 3. Reproducibility: always 4. Setup: TV 5. Operating System (optional): none 6. Description of problem: when I play an *.iso file after ANY other (*.mkv), I have no sound. But that is only about *.iso because if I play other *.mkv, everything is ok. I have to shut down and start again.
Thanks

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r6629
I'm still having problems with subtitles:
1) Colours aren't working (when subtitles are merged into .mkv files or .srt with .mkv)
2) Mini2 doesn't check .\subtitles folder for subs like all other players do.
Could these be fixed for the next release please?

sambadi: I ovserved the same sound issue after playing an mkv but found a faster workaround than rebooting: changing the TV-SYS also restores the sound for me.

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r6629
This firmware seems to have fixed the problem that my mini2 would hangup and reboot anytime I wanted to access a shortcut from the main menu.
I still think it is ridiculous that I can't have the movie/photo/music folders in the main menu point to a networkshare. Thats the whole reason I bought the HDD-less variant.
Haven't seen any drawbacks to this firmware yet.

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r6629
Hey Guys, Thanks for this new version. Have been running it for a few weeks and it seems great especially shorcuts being first menu. Only thing i have noticed is a few resets here and there, and it has the tendency to go to "sleep" and not wake up again with out power being cut and device restarted.
I have 2 hopefully small requests for this firmware that i'm sure all of us will appreciate.
1. When using a keyboard in youtube, space is not recognized. Thats pretty annoying as you have to use arrows to get to the spacebar on the screen.
2. The sorting in your youtube application doesn't seem to sort the searches. I'm sure most would be interested in either the same sorting as the web xl version or simply most views first. Its certainly better then random... Everyone could use the xl version, but the quality in full screen is terrible.
Best regards, Nicolai
