Post DVR Freezes after being left idle.
The DVR Freezes after being left idle. If its being used all day its fine but leave it alone for a few hours and it freezes and is totaly unresponsive. The only fix is turning it off at the wall.

I dont want to turn it off every time im finished with it as I have recordings and half the time it wont turn itself on when the recording is due to start.

Im using r3966 as it seems to be the most stable so far.

Anyone else experiencing this problem or have a fix?

Are you using the screensaver option ? There seems to be some issues at times when returning from screensaver the menu will freeze. This happens if you idle in main menu and the screensaver comes up and you let it run for an hour or so. To avoid this you can try idling somewhere else than in main menu or turn the screensaver option 'off'.

Thanks Arne

Ill turn off the screensaver and see how it goes.
It doesnt need to have the screensaver on as the TV is turned off if its not being used.

If no joy, try r4585 - that seems pretty stable for me. r3966 has EPG problems anyway.

Turning off the screensaver seemed to make it better but has not fixed the problem totaly. It still occurs with the screen just being blank.

Ill wait untill the current series i am recording finished before i go playing with firmware.

After reading the comments in the firware release section of the forum i think i wont upgrade the firmware.

As posted my MiM

Another Bug: I finished watching a pre-recorded show and left the player on the "movies" screen. Played on the computer for about an hour and came back and the unit was frozen "black screen of death"!! The unit wasn't responding to anything, even the power button on the front of the unit, I had to remove the power cable from the back!?

This black screen seems exactly how it acts currently
