After the prompt type
cd /tmp/usbmounts/sda1/try
If the prompt reappears type
ls
This will show you if the try.sh file is still present on your stick.
If so, type ./try.sh & Don't forget the dot and the slash before try.

If you get any error message format the stick on your Windows PC (NTFS of course) and start from the very beginning as you did in your first test run.
Wait 10 minutes before switching of your Playon and check the x.<number> file again.

If your USB-Pen on /tmp/usbmounts/sda1

Was sdb1.
And the kill comand did not work, all the others did and this time i have 3 files.

try.sh
x.6817
x.6817.tmp

Returning the pen to windows was not a sign of corrupted files (no warnings) , but, when trying to open the file x.6817, The file is damaged or eligible.
Then I did a search for errors on the pen and windows moved the 2 files (X.6817, x.6817.tmp) for one folder named found. (do not know where)

But something must be wrong in the firmware of acryan, after all this windows never notice corrupted files in the pen.
On acryan firmware i just have to put the pen on playon and remove to get warnings from windows.

This shows that your Asus O'Play basically has the same bug as the AC Ryan. It only shows at a different moment.
The root of the problem is the Realtek SDK, which is used in all players based on the Realtek 1xx3 and 1xx5 chipset.

A simple question, on windows we have to go to safely remove the usb stick or disk, right.
If we do not corrupted files can happen, yes.
It can not be the way that acryan turns off that make windows warnings?
This because only by turning on off we get the warnings.

The recommended equivalent for "Safely remove hardware" on the Playon is turning the Playon off by means of the remote or the front button and turn off a USB hard disk after the front light becomes red.
You will see that shutting down the Playon takes some time, because of orderly closing all running applications. If you have a USB stick with a light, you will the light blink during the shut down process, indicating file activity, whatever that may be.

Turning on your Playon with an empty USB stick causes the .Theater folder being written on your USB stick. That is a hidden system folder, containing the data base for the scan option. So there always is some file activity, which you cannot disable.

Post Re: NTFS filesystem problems
My two cents regarding this topic.

I have a Playon HD2 with an internal HDD. I have to admit that I used it for torrents and I was copying files on it via Ethernet too. After a while I realized that some files are getting damaged, the movie jumps to another movie during playback (of course not when it reaches the end of the movie) but I did not realize the severity of the problem until I found this forum post.
I decided to move to ext3 (I'm a Linux user anyways and I do prefer ext3 or any other Linux filesystem over NTFS). I tried to move to ext3 immediately after buying the HD2 but a simple reformat of the NTFS partition did not help.
By the way, I would be interested why the hell ACRyan does not support ext3 as the main parition?? It seems that it is explicitly forbidden...
So during the change I ran chkdsk before transferring the movies to the ext3 partition and I lost 12 movies.

I do think that this problem should get high priority even though I hope that I will not face it anymore by using ext3.

One more thing. I suppose that ACRyan might think that the problem is not so severe because most of the people watch movies only once and if I would not have a child who watches movies a thousand time I might also not face this problem.

I hope that ACRyan will solve this problem for those who still use NTFS. Using ntfs-3g might be a good idea.

But there may be differences.
The asus is first off, the disc 2 / 3 seconds after.
It just creates a file named file.

The Playon off all at the same time,
It has a folder with the file inside.

The mede8er I do not know what off first.
But dont have files.
