Re: My pvr76120 is playing up AGAIN!!!!
Thank you for your reply Dasjournal.
I am using DHCP and i did try to manually reserve an IP address into the router which included the mac address of the wireless dongle of the pv76120 but without success. Just to make sure i was correctly including the address, i followed the same procedure with my TV, 2 PC's, and my son's xbox360 and they all worked correctly with the ip addresses i addressed them.

Re: My pvr76120 is playing up AGAIN!!!!
I have managed to connect my pv76120 to my netgear CG3100 cable modem. I enable ip reservation and included the mac address into the Wireless Card Access List and the 76120 finally hooked up. Unfortunately there is no Wireless Access List function on my dual band Netgear dgdn3700 and the pv76120 still won't hook up to it. So i have ditched the 3700 for now so i can at least still transfer movies etc from my pc to the hdd of the pv76120 even though the transfer rate is still painfully slow. Better than nothing i guess.

Page 127 describes the method to reserve an IP address for particular devices. Just a thought - do you use MAC address filtering on your network? That is, do you only allow specific devices to connect if their MAC address is listed on your router/gateway? If they are not listed when MAC address filtering is enabled, they will be unable to connect.

Re: My pvr76120 is playing up AGAIN!!!!
I made sure MAC filtering was turned off, and i even turned it on and included the MAC address of the wireless dongle just to see if it would make any difference and it didn't.
I did have another play around with the dgnd3700 again today as it has a lot of different features compared to my old modem and this is some of the things i did.
I enabled QOS setup and included the MAC address of the wireless dongle and gave the pv76120 highest rating. Double checked the IP reservation list....all fine there. DCHP is turned on...(not using static IP) Wireless Card Access List is turned on...MAC address of the wireless dongle included. Double checked that and is correct. Turned off Wireless Card Access,.....no difference. Wireless security settings on router is set too, WPA2-PSK (AES) SSID is enabled. I tried different channels on the modem/router, that made no difference. I moved the modem/router closer to the pv76120 (in the same room) to see if it would connect, no difference. When i back the wireless speed to 54mps the pv76120 sometimes connects but the connection is very unstable and transfer rate is extremely slow. I have been able to get the pv76120 to connect to my dgnd3700 modem/router once when modem was set at 145mps (wireless N) but have not been able to get it to connect again and again connection was slow and unstable.
So as you can see i have tried lots of different things without much luck. The only other option i can think of is to call in an electrician and have cat5 cable wired from my cable modem (which is at the other end of the house) to my entertainment area and setup the dgn3700 there and have everything connected by cable. Either that or use a usb flash drive to transfer everything from my pc to the pv76120....that will be a pain in the arse!!! The pv76120 is the only device that won't connect, everything else (tv, pc's, xbox360) all connect up fine.

Re: My pvr76120 is playing up AGAIN!!!!
I would reset the DGND3700 using the reset button on the back. Set the SSID to something simple using only standard English letters and numbers. Leave the SSID as 'visible', and do not enable wireless encryption (for testing) or MAC filtering. Make this as simple as possible.
I have a DGND3800 - I'll check the AC Ryan with this.

I got UPnP and network playback through it. I don't understand what is going for you - have you tried using another wireless connection profile in the DVR-HD's setup area?

Re: My pvr76120 is playing up AGAIN!!!!
Well after returning from a 2 week vacation feeling good and refreshed i thought i would try to hook up my AC Ryan to my network again and still no luck and as a result, all my frustrations have returned!
I reset the modem, i used basic SSID, basic password, tried different channels, different security, no mac filtering or ip reservation. I even put the modem in the same room as the AC Ryan and still no luck. It will not connect to my Dgnd3700 where every other device in my home does. I can't figure this out as i have tried everything. I feel like smashing the bloody thing!!!!
