 Surround Sound Hi,
My player is set to RAW audio output on HDMI and Optical but when I'm playing a .mkv file with 6 channel sound my receiver only gives me stereo, is there such a bug or is it just a setting?
My player is connected to a hdmi splitter, one output to the receiver and the other directly to my bedroom tv, initially thought it was a handshaking issue as we watched something in the bedroom which only supported stereo and then tried to watch using the receiver but I switched off the player and restarted, surely then the devices would indicate it's connected to a surround sound device or am I missing something?

Re: Surround Sound The .nfo and moviesheet says 6 Channel DTS (5.1), what other program can I use to verify this?

Re: Surround Sound If you connect the player direct on the reciever without the hdmi splitter does it sill says stereo ?

Re: Surround Sound Ok, watching a .mkv file, has got two audio, english and german, english is DTS 6 channel and german is dolby digital 6 channel, english is played stereo and gernan surround sound,unfortunately I don't understand german so have to watch in stereo. Mediaplayer is connected directly to amp. Any ideas

Re: Surround Sound tried other files with DTS and also didn't work... played the same file but now audio on optical and it was surround sound, why doesn't it work on my hdmi?

Please check if you have firmware version 2688 installed in your media player. As this is the latest official firmware we have, I can confirm that it can support DTS and Dolby via optical or HDMI output.
