I'm looking for a program to "control" my AC Ryan from my notebook running Ubuntu 11.10.

To be more specific. To browse my files on my notebook and send them to the AC Ryan mini (to use as renderer), like windows media player (play with..).

Why dont browse on the player to the Network share and stream that way ?

This way you have all available options like subtitles etc.

The other way is not standard possible.

Maybe only if you hack and alter the fw.
