Post Re: I can't play my DVD movie
Hi guys,

thanks for the feedback. Anyhow we are aware of this problem. As for now Android doesn't support iso/dvd playback. Therefore it's our top priority to get this fixed asap. Please do note that there is no android version + buit-in player that supports this yet but we try our best to get it working for you guys.
I have also tried alot of other mediaplayers for android which all the same issue so i cannot give you any workaround at this very moment. We'll update you as soon as it's done.

thanks & best regards,

As ISO files seem to be a problem, maybe this might be helpful for the AC Ryan developers:
http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/
WinCDEmu is open source and comparable to Daemon Tools. The source code is included, this should make it easier to make an Android version. Hope it helps.

every body out there if you want to play dvd folders use this app http://daroon-player.googlecode.com/svn ... player.apk problem solved except voor iso , but when you unpack an iso file with winrar you get de dvd folders so that's a work around to play the dvd movie folders. :D

Thanks for sharing this. Tested it and can confirm that it works to play dvd folder structures. As a Tip if you want to play from network first go with the built-in Files Manager to your network location. Afterwards in the ds player add a folder to search for dvd's and give /mnt/smb/mountpoint_01/ as location which points to your network.
If you now refresh the movies it will 'scan' your network location and you can playback the dvd folders from there.

best regards,

Hi Guys,

I've tested the daroon-player with a mounted DVD-folder over ethernet.
It works so far, though a bit laggy, but every time the chapter changes, the video freezes for a few seconds and when it plays along, audio and video aren't synced anymore. So you have to step back to the previous chapter and forward to the actual chapter again and everything is fine again. Does anyone have an idea what to do about it??

@ACRyan staff: P L E A S E hurry up bringing a usable DVD-Stream-PLayer onto the VEOLO, thats mainly what I bought it for ;)

Thanks in advance...

Thank you for your feedback and support. As by default Android really does not support it, we will be glad to announce if this feature is going to be supported in future firmware upgrades,

Hi,

I have the same frustrations about not being able to play a DVD like it is supposed to be played. So I tried the Daroon player but it keeps telling me that the dvd folder is empty. How can I redirect the dvd folder to my dvd's on a usb harddisk.

regards,
Rob

@ Hobbiebob

Please follow the below guide in order to browse your DVD folder from external drive using the Daroon player.

- While inside the Daroon player main Menu, press "setting" button on the remote (below left with three squares)
- An option will pop up below the screen, choose Settings.
- Select Media File Scan Settings, then select Media Directories.
- Browse for the file directory, done.

Hope you can try it out.
