Hello VEOLO owners!

We are happy to announce our new official firmware Version.1.0.0.849.
Below you will find links to download this new firmware together with the change log and instructions on how to install this firmware.

The flashing procedures: There are 2 separate ways to flash the firmware. We recommend that you use the ‘SYSTEM UPGRADE’ when you install this new firmware. In the event of system corruption or when normal ‘SYSTEM UPGRADE’ is not possible: then please use the ‘RECOVERY UPGRADE’ method instead. Please make sure that if you flash the firmware with a USB-stick, that you use FAT32 as file system.

SYSTEM UPGRADE method (*recommended!):
1. Copy both files in the downloaded package, “update_app.zip” and “update_system.zip” to the root
directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to any USB host port of VEOLO.
2. Enter the Settings page, followed by Misc and then to System update and select “Update from
USB/SD Card”.
3. Continue to provide the location of the upgrade package. A message will shortly appear to prompt
for the upgrade when the necessary files are found in the selected location. Click Ok to continue.
4. The unit will reboot and start to upgrade. During upgrading it is common for the unit to reboot once or more.

RECOVERY UPGRADE method:
1. Copy both files in the downloaded package, “update_app.zip” and “update_system.zip” to the root
directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to any USB host port of VEOLO.
2. Switch off the main power to the unit.
3. Press and hold the power button on the side of the unit.
4. Switch on the main power.
5. Release the power button when the upgrading process begins on your display in a moment.
6. During upgrading it is common for the unit to reboot once or more.

!!DO NOT POWER OFF THE UNIT WHILE FLASHING! THIS MIGHT CAUSE DAMAGE AND RESULT IN DEFECTED HARDWARE!

Don't know if reactions/comments in firmware section are ok but if not please delete it ^_^

Just wanne say that the first experience with the new firmware is very positive and I'm very greatfull for it being out before the end of the year. My experience with the veolo keeps getting better day by day and the adding of the official Android Market is a blessing :-)

I found your case to be a bit strange, but then again anything can happen right? :D I do suggest you try installing first version 750 then upgrade it to version 849.

What's the difference between the Asian and the European versions of this frimware? Will it make any difference if I install either one of them regardless?

Hi,

the main difference is the LeTV app which is only available in the asian firmware for obvious reasons. You can of course choose which one you want to install on your VEOLO. It basically won't matter which firmware you install.

Hello!

I think I just found a bug in the new firmware.
My network connection is wired and I applied a static IP. But my VEOLO doesn't remember the gateway address. Everytime I change it and leave the settings, the gateway falls back to 0.0.0.0
I only get it to work with a trick. I have to enable DHCP, then change back to static and set the IP, but after a restart the gateway is reset again. Does anyone else got this problem???

Thanks for your feedback. We have noticed this bug already and reported this. We will naturally try to fix this in an upcoming software update for you guys.
